book two, chapter three: concert

Sals P.O.V

Ash was on her way over here!

I was so excited to see my friend, and while it hasn't been too long, it's felt like forever since I've seen her!

I'm so excited to listen to all her fun stories about the city, and especially to hear about the cool motorcycle she has.

She's so badass and I love that for her.

To celebrate, we were all going to go to a concert! It was a fairly local one, and the venue wasn't supposed to be totally packed, but a decent amount of people would probably be there.

Unfortunately Todd and Neil decided to back out of the plans. I do miss hanging with them, but they for sure would not be into the music whatsoever. Just isn't their taste, so I don't blame them.

Plus we do see them every day, they just haven't been going out with us. And that's totally okay!

"Is she here yet?" (Y/N) asked tiredly. She was curled up on my chest as we sprawled out on the couch.

She's so sweet and delicate.

My hand rubbed her back, knowing she absolutely loves when I do that "not yet, but hopefully soon. Then we can get going to the concert alright?"

A hum came from her and a small nod.

Larry exited from his bedroom and nodded his head to (Y/N). "Is she up? I wanted to talk to her before we head over.

I nodded and I felt her stir a little bit. "What's up?" She said lazily. "I'm awake and all.."

"I just want to make sure you're not going to drink tonight. And that you know to stay with us. I know big crowds are never your thing and there can be some shitty people that go to these scenes." Larry warned "and if someone decides to get handsy, you tell me right away. Okay?"

She nodded gently "Yeah that's all fine"

"Promise?"

She almost seemed to have fallen back asleep, but smiled after a moment instead. "promise promise"

Ten minutes went by and we were still waiting for Ash to get here. It wasn't like we were in any rush but we were all definitely getting a little tired.

At first we planned to hang out and then head over, but the timing didn't work out with her being a bit behind

With all of us almost passing out, the door finally swung open with a bang, and an excited Ash ran into the room almost screaming. The three of us were sat on the couch, Larry towards my legs and (Y/N) still dead asleep against me.

"WHATS UP YOU GUYS! I MISSED YOU OH MY GOD!" Ash ran over and flopped herself on top of everyone, waking up (Y/N) in the process. She wasn't heavy, so I'm sure it wasn't painful physically, but I'm almost positive she mentally was in pain because of the extremely good sleep that was interrupted

It took a second for her to realize what was going on, especially with her face buried in my chest.

"Ash!!" She excitedly exclaimed. She was wide awake now."you're back!"

"Hell yeah!" Ash laughed. "Are you losers ready to have a fun time! Sorry I was late, traffic was an actual bitch today"

Larry smiled and fist bumped her, "well let's get going then!" He threw himself off the couch and ran to the door "Bye Todd, Bye Neil! Have fun while we're gone, but not too much fun!"

We heard a muffled laughing from their bedroom door "Bye Larry, bye everyone" Todd yelled loudly.

We all hopped up and loaded ourselves into the car that Lisa dropped of the day before. She really knew how to take care of all of us to make sure we were as safe as we could be. She was the best step-mom I could've asked for.
