(Y/N)'s P.O.V

He froze in his position, as I let my hand stop right on the strap.

"It's okay if not Sal, I understand"

Sal didn't seem worried or anxious as he had in the past. I could tell a lot of thoughts were running through his head in this moment.

I was worried I stepped a boundary, so I slowly pulled my hand away from the buckles.

Within an instant, his hand was around the back of mine, stopping me from pulling away any further. I looked into his eyes, which stared right back at me.

"You don't have to show me right now..." I whispered.

"I want to show you (Y/N)"

These words made my whole body sink into the bed more, and I couldn't stop replaying his voice in my head.

He gently led my hand back to the strap, placing it on where it comes off. I fumbled with the thing for a bit until I finally felt it release and loosen.

I pulled the strap undone, reaching my hand towards the top one. This one was much easier to undo since I did the first one already.

For some reason, my hand was shaky and I was nervous. I didn't know what for, but it almost felt like I was about to meet someone for the first time. But I wasn't, this was Sal, the one I've come to know and love. He wasn't just his mask and I knew that, but I could finally put a face to the person I've fawned over for some time.

Sals hand made his way to the front of his mask, and he lifted it very slowly. He was hesitant but he wasn't afraid and that made me happy.

The mask lifted off and he placed it beside him, but I didn't look to see where he put it. My eyes grazed over each feature of his and took in every little detail.

The right side of his face was covered in large scars and missing flesh. I could tell the bone structure on that side of his face was shattered and some pieces were no longer in place. His lips were almost full, but missing skin made some of his teeth show while he wasn't smiling.

It followed up to his eye socket where his glass eye sat, and I could see some indents from where bone was missing as well.

I wasn't sure what I was expecting Sal to look like, but seeing him as who he is, brought me comfort.

"Sal I...." I breathed. My eyes scanned over his face and I swallowed hard "you're perfect Sal."

His one eye swelled up with tears, as I brought a hand to his cheek and leaned up, kissing his forehead. His skin was soft despite all the scar tissue that formed.

A sob rant out from his mouth and pulled my face away, making him hug me tighter than ever. He was sobbing hard into my shirt and I hugged him just as tight back.

He was emotional, and had every right to be. Something like this must be so hard to do, especially with the emotions he was feeling about the breakup.

It can be really overwhelming and I see why.

"D-do you really think s-so?" He hiccuped out.

"With every cell in my body."

I soothed him gently, finally being able to run my hands through his hair completely without the straps getting in the way at any point. I let my fingers go through every inch as I shut my eyes.

I could tell his sobbing was dying down, and he sat up quickly, wiping his face free from tears.

"I-I'm sorry I've got a lot of pent up feelings" he joked and I sat up beside him giggling.

His nervousness continued to exist despite already seeing him, but he still turned his head away from me obscuring my view of most of his face.

"You have no reason to be sorry you loser. You can be emotional" I punched him lightly and he smiled towards me.

I could see his genuine smile. It was absolutely perfect. It made my heart flutter in ways I never expected. I could see Sal smiling.

"Sal your smile is something else... I love it" I chimed in. "It's my favorite thing"

"Your favorite thing?" He reiterated.

I bit my lip with the corners of my mouth tugged upwards, and nodded fast.

He couldn't hold a smile back as he shook his head. A new sight to see was the burning pink that rose to his cheeks as he processed my sentence.

I didn't realize how red his face gets when he's embarrassed, but his cheeks were rosy as hell.

That was so fucking cute. I thought about how I wanted to keep this moment forever and never let it pass. I want to be able to look at him and stare at his face like he's anybody else.

But of course, the universe isn't really on my side a lot of the time.

The two of us heard Larry and Lisa entering the apartment, making Sal jump nervously. With no hesitation, he grabbed his prosthetic and quickly strapped it back on before anyone came in.

It was kind of impressive how fast he did it.

I thought for a moment and shut my eyes.

"What are you doing?" Sal asked me curiously.

I whispered, so that the two outside the room couldn't hear me. "I'm remembering what you look like. Every part of you and I don't want to forget a single detail."

He was quiet, and about to say something as the door swung open as fast as humanly possible.

"Oh Sal! What's up dude!" He ran over, jumping full force in the bed making me scream and laugh hysterically.

"Oh uh, well... Ash kinda broke up with me" he repeated as he did before.

"Damn dude, I'm sorry bout that. Are you guys still friends?" Larry didn't seem surprised whatsoever, confirming my suspicious that he already knew.

"Yeah, she's still a cool ass friend. Love her to death but I mean, she had a good reason" he snickered and shrugged. "We were pretty different"

Larry's face was pretty happy, and I bet he was so relieved seeing that his best friend was doing well. I could only imagine the stress he was in, knowing about it.

"Man, I didn't know you were a player Sal" Larry sneered "Already in bed with another girl"

"H-hey!" Both Sal and I yelled, making Larry bust out into laughter.

My face was now bright red and I crossed my arms, looking to Sal.

The redness creeped up from his neck to his jawline as it did before and I smiled. He was totally blushing, probably more than when I saw him.

"Why don't we do something then, to kind of get your mind off of things?" Larry suggested and thought.

"Can we go bowling!" Sal exclaimed excitedly and I gasped.

"Yes yes let's go bowling!" I cheered.

Larry groaned and rolled his eyes. "Fine let's go bowling.
