Larry's P.O.V

Totally weird that she wanted me to walk her out.

The elevator down was completely silent, Ash seemed a little nervous but I didn't know what about.

We made our way to the front of the building and I leaned on the old exterior.

The wind sent a large chill down my spine, with my hands shoved in my pockets as usual. It gave me some warmth at least.

Ash sighed and shook her head "I don't know what to do Larry"

"What do you mean?"

She was fidgeting slightly and biting her nails, something really was going on. "I don't think I like Sal more than a friend..."

For a moment I was confused, but also furious "Dude, he's your boyfriend"

She rolled her eyes "Yeah that's the problem, captain obvious. I think... I need to break up with him."

"You absolutely should. Just. Be careful. He's fragile. He isn't used to it."

"I know... I just see him more like a really good dude and I don't think I see him romantically. We're so much different than I thought."

She crossed her arms and shook her head.

"He's really not physical... ever since we got together I've only leaned on him and barely even held his hand. and even when we're alone he kind of is... jumpy and distant. I'm the totally opposite"

For a moment, I was confused. My mind wandered back to the moments Sal and (Y/N) laid together in bed, when they didn't notice me. How he let her run her hands through his hair, and him curling up with her on my bed.

He was very clearly physical when it came to her.

But apparently not with Ash.

I nodded, I also knew that Sal wasn't about PDA. We once had a conversation about it, and he stated he didn't hate it. He just liked to think that alone time is personal and special when it comes to his love life.

I kicked a rock on the ground "make sure he knows that you still want to be friends... I'm sure he doesn't want to lose you"

"Yeah definitely. I wouldn't want to lose him either. I love the kid" she chuckled and sighed deeply. I could tell she had more on her mind. "So um... (Y/N)"

"What about her?" I wondered. Though I had I feeling I knew exactly what she was on about.

"I don't know her that well but... you do. I don't know man. When they're in the room together they-"

"Yeah, im glad you see it too" I smirked lightly. "Since they've met they kinda just clicked. I don't think I've ever seen Sal act the way he does until she came around. No offense."

She smiled and nodded, agreeing to my statement. "None taken. I just want Sal happy. He deserves it and I don't want him to be with me when someone... better for him is right in front of him."

Ash was right. She's known Sal for a long time too, not as long as me but she knows him enough to know that despite meeting (Y/N) only recently, she is better for Sal.

In this moment I realized how similar they were. Both can be very feral and crazy but mostly tame and quiet. They like to speak their minds but are very calm and collected. Overall, both are very mature thinkers and I think there can't be a better match.

"Do you think she's got feelings for him?" Ash quizzed.

"Oh absolutely. Completely and totally falling for him. She's been doing her best to keep the feelings away. Always been like that, so I'm not surprised. I think she wanted him happy too, so she backed off."

Ash groaned and leaned her head on the wall "I feel like such an ass! I completely came in and swept him away from her and I didn't even realize."

I elbowed her gently and laughed "I mean, I'm glad you've come to realize now rather than later. That would be a brutal break up. Hopefully now, he can be at least more chill with it..." I mumbled "I just worry cause he had a giant crush on you for awhile. I don't think he's going to take it well, let alone start thinking about dating her"

"Yeah definitely not. I mean, maybe this can help. We can help set them up too when they're ready!" Ash grinned and wiggled her eyebrows. "I can tell what you mean by how they just... work. In ways Sal and I don't"

She's such a cool girl, despite what this may do to Sal, I can tell she has purely good intentions. She wants to help him in any way possible and doesn't want to put a strain on her friendship with him. That's the type of person everyone needs in their life.

"Alright Campbell, I'm in." I took my hand out of my pocket and shook hers happily. "You gotta break up with Sal as soon as possible. I don't want you leading him on"

It sucked that he was probably going to get his heart broken but it needs to happen, especially if Ash really isn't feeling anything for him.

"Alright, sounds good" she sighed "I feel so bad. And you're not mad at me, are you?"

"You can't help who you do and don't love, dude. If Sal isn't the one for you then that's all good. I'm just upset that you're going to be hurting my little dude"

She groaned sadly and nodded "I know. I just know he's going to be happier in the long run. I saw when he was playing with her hair tonight. He seemed so at peace and she did as well."

"I got you. Well I'm going to head back in. Get home safe, yeah?"

"Sure thing, I'll see ya soon Larry!"

She walked off and I stepped back into the apartments and breathe out.

Oh boy.
