~Dave POV
"It gotta be a better route to go on bro. You don't have to kill her." He said. "It's the only way to get rid of the problem. Now I noticed that she never falls asleep until I do, probably cause she thinks I'm gone fuck with her. But once I see that she's sleep, I'm gone kill her. Then I'll be problem free."
~Madyson POV
"Now you got to remember to knock on the wall before you do it. Because if you don't, I'm gone assume that something is wrong and I'll have no other choice but to come in there." He said. "Okay." I said.
"Are you sure you can do this? We're talking about you committing murder right now." He said. "If this is what it takes for me to get the hell away from him then that's what I'm going to do." I said. His phone went off, the look on his face changed. "What's wrong?" I asked. "Nothing. Let's g-" I cut him off. "Please don't lie to me. What just happened?" I asked. "Herb texted me. Dave told him that he plans on killing you. Tonight." He said making my heart drop.
"Well then, I guess I'll have to do it first."
"Madyson, you don't get it. That nigga used to be a hitman, he certified at this shit. If this man has a plan to kill you tonight, you won't even get the chance." He said. "I can do this." I said. "We can find another way."
"I don't need another way. Give me the gun." I said holding my hand out. "Are you sure about this?" He asked making me nod. He handed it to me. "There is a silencer on it so you won't draw attention to your room. Hide this somewhere you know he won't see, understood?" He asked. "Yes, I got it." I said. I walked out the room going back in mine. I went into the bathroom putting the gun under the cabinet behind some towels.
You can do this.
**Later That Night**
"What's your problem?" Dave asked looking at me. "Problem? What problem?" I asked. "That. You acting all jittery and shit. And I hope you know, I can see the phone isn't in the same place that I left it." He said. "Dave I promise I didn't try t-" He cut me off. "I don't care. I just don't care anymore. I don't care about you. I don't care about this relationship. I don't care about any of this bullshit anymore." He said laughing a little. He got up standing in front of me. I felt my heart beat speed up.
Is this it? Is this where he just ends it all?
"I'm going to bed." He said. He got in the bed turning off the lamp.
Now we wait.
I scooted back against the headboard with my knees in my chest.
~Jarnez POV
"This is stupid. I shouldn't have let her go in there on her own." I said shaking my head. "It's alright J. It's almost midnight. Dave probably knocked out right now and he'll be dead in the next few minutes." Herb said. "She hasn't knocked on the wall yet. What if this nigga killed her already?"
"You like her."
"Herb this ain't the time for this shit." I scoffed. "We got time to kill right now, let's talk about it. Ever since she came to you about this shit you been deep into it." He said. "That's because I care about women getting abused. I'd help anybody." I said. "You wasn't this eager to help the last broad that came to you about this."
"Whether I like her or not, I need to hear that knock on the wall. She got five more minutes and I'm going in there."
~Madyson POV
I got out the bed going into the bathroom. I made sure to lock the door behind me. "Okay Madyson." I said grabbing the gun from the cabinet and putting it on the countertop. "You can do this." I said pacing back and forth. "Just pull the trigger." I said.
"Fuck, I can't do this. I can't kill someone." I said shaking my head. My body jumped as I heard the knock on the door. "What you doing in there?" Dave asked from the other side of the door. "I felt a little sick." I said. "You in there talking to yourself. Learn to shut the fuck up."
I heard his footsteps fade away and I could hear him getting in the bed. I grabbed the gun putting it in my shirt. I flushed the toilet and knocked on the wall. "Okay, you got this." I walked out the bathroom seeing Dave's back turned to me. I pulled the gun out pointing it at the back of his head. I could feel my body shaking in fear.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. I can't do this.
Just one shot. That's all I need.
"I dare you to pull the fucking trigger." Dave said making my heart drop. Before I could even think about pulling the trigger, he hit the gun out of my hand. "Dave I am so sorry." I said. He turned the gun around pointing it at me. "I wasn't going to do it. I promise I wasn't going to do it." I said. "You think I believe that shit?" He asked. "Where did you even get this gun?" I asked.
I didn't know what to say. I couldn't tell him about Herb or Jarnez.
"Lie to me if you want to and I swear to God I will pull this trigger."
"I brought it with me. I-I found it before we left the first house." I said. "What makes you think you need a gun?" He asked. "Dave look at this. Look at this situation right now. I thought I was going to need it for protection." I said feeling tears form in my eyes. He moved back grabbing the gun from under his pillow. "This was the plan." He said pointing both guns at me. "Dave you don't have to kill me. You can just let me walk."
"So you can run to the fucking cops? I'm not stupid." He scoffed. "I won't go to the cops. I-I promise I'll just leave town and never come back."
"You'll leave town and never come back?" He asked. "Yes, I promise." I said making him laugh. "You ain't going nowhere." He said pressing the gun against my head. "Dave please." I said crying. "I am about to fucking kill you." He whispered in my ear.
"Please, no."
"But not right now." He said moving the gun away. "Not in this room." He said pacing back and forth. I looked around.
Should I make a run for it?
I backed away slowly. "Where the fuck you think you going!" He yelled. I tried to run out the door but he grabbed me by my hair. He grabbed me by my neck putting the gun towards my head. "You dumb bitch. You just make things harder for yourself." He said. "Let me go. Please." I sobbed. "Nah. I don't think so."
Then everything went black.
