Five days later, Sarah is able to leave the hospital. For the last five days she has been regaining strength. She spent time with every member of her prayer group. Each had spent one night with her, giving her daddy and Josiah a break and much needed time to sleep. They spent every second they can with her and learned all about the care she will need after she comes home.
Grace and Racheal, as well as the ladies of the WMU, have the fridge and freezer stocked. James doesn't think he will have to cook or shop for months. The prayer group has cut the grass and cleaned the house. The girls also made sure there are fresh flowers in Sarah's room.
The home health care nurse, Tina, made sure that the IV antibiotics are set up for her to continue at home as well as everything else she will need.
She is so ready to see her room again. It felt like forever . Her daddy and Josiah will be there to get her at noon. She looks forward to just being outside. After a week. She was amazed when she thought about it, about how much she has changed in a week. If she thought to much about it, it was dizzying.
Uncle Eric came by this morning to remove the drain, but the stitches remain and will for another week. The nurse had taken out the IV but she knew that Tina would have to place another one. But for now, her body is her own. Well almost.
Beth is bringing buy real clothes but they wouldn't fit right. She has spent the week in two sets of pajamas and a robe covered by blankets but now she will be seen in real clothes. By Josiah. The thought threatens to send her into hysterics.
Beth walks in just then. She sees her face and runs over to her. "Sarah, are you alright?"
"I can't do this Beth. I can't let Josiah see me dressed."
"Would you rather him see you naked?" She teases.
"No!'
"I was just teasing sis."
"I know. But you see..."
"I know what concerns you Sarah. Let's get you dressed and see. Okay?"
"Okay."
Sarah brought jeans and a loose shirt. With a sigh and a prayer, Sarah gets dressed.
"You look good Sarah."
"I... it isn't to bad."
"Okay, let's do hair and makeup."
"Thanks Beth. I..."
"I know." She hugs her to her side before she starts to work on her hair. "I have seen the way he looks at you. He sees how beautiful you are."
"But Beth."
"No buts. Now sit." She pulls her hair out of the braid that it has been in for a week. It falls in waves down her back. "Perfect. It is lovely." She then puts color back in her cheeks and brightens her eyes. "I didn't put to much blush on because as soon as you see Josiah, you will blush naturally." She teases.
"Thanks Beth." She is a bit embarrassed.
"It is really going to be okay."
Twelve o'clock came soon enough. Beth sits on the bed beside her, holding her hand. "Owe Sarah. Relax. You are going to break my hand."
"Sorry. I am just so scared."
"Why? Trust me on this. You are going to knock his socks off."
"We will see. I think I hear them coming."
