"Would you rather Beth had stayed?" Josiah asks her after she had left.

"Oh no." She replies there is a knock on the door, her face red.

"Are you sure? You seem awefully nervous."

"I am sure and I am nervous. I just~ have never been alone with you before."

"Well love." He stretches and reaches for her hand, linking them."we really aren't alone. There will probably be a nurse or aid in here any minute."

"Do you know their schedule?"

"Nah, just your daddy. If you were my daughter," he smiles at this thought," well I would send someone in here to check on me."

"Ah, but we wouldn't," she get redder if that is possible." You wouldn't, anyway."

"We know this but..well I don't know that your daddy does." Right then there is a knock on the door and it opens to someone new.

"Hi guys. I am Brother Samuel, the hospital's chaplain," Hi Josiah. I didn't know you were up here."

"Yes ah this is my girlfriend Sarah."

"Girlfriend. Nice. Hi Sarah. You got a good one. Josiah is the best."

"Thanks sir. I know he is."

"Brother Samuel. I am not old enough for sir. Sarah, my job is to offer spiritual guidence, as needed. There is always someone on call at the chaplain's office. I know you are going through a hard thing. If you need to talk, I am here."

"Thanks Brother Samuel. I truly appreciate it." He leaves her one of his cards and slips out. As soon as he does, there is another knock and a lady enters.

"Hi Sarah. I am Megan, your CNA tonight. I need to take your vitals."

"Hi Megan, nive to meet you. This is Josiah, my boyfriend."

"Nice to meet you." She starts to take her vitals. After, Josiah ask if she is okay. Megan looks to Sarah for permission to tell him. She nods.

"She is fine. Vitals okay, anyway."

"Anyway. How is she otherwise?"

"As expected." Megan gets up to leave.

"I am not sure I like her."

"She was just being honest." Sarah reaches for him and he returns to her side, taking her hand.

"She could have been more gentle about it."

"Yah," she yawns. "I wonder if they will serve me something other then soup for supper."

"If not, I could run down and get you something."

"Thanks babe but I think I need to stick to what they serve."

"Okay. I think we are about to find out." He hears the trays outside. A few minutes later a man walks in with a tray. He places it on her bedside table with an " Enjoy." as he heads out.

She lifts the lid with trepidation and was pleasantly surprised. Real food.  A tuna sandwich, fruit cocktail, a salad, and pudding. She has never been happier to see tuna.

"This is great, but Josiah, I hate to eat in front of you."

"It is okay. I ordered a companion try." Said as the same man re-enters with it. When he leaves, she asks him,

"When did you order it?"

"Before I came up today." He admits.

"So all this was planned?"
