As Abe and Tim head home, and Abe gets ready to drop Tim off at home, they talk about all that has happened. Abe wants to make sure he understands.

“Tim, do you understand why Sarah had surgery?”

“Yah Abe. To take out the cancer. She wanted to make sure they got it all out cause they didn’t with her momma.”

“Exactly right. But, she has to have other things to make sure the cancer is all gone.”

“Yep. Chemo and stuff. Abe, will she be bald?”

“Probably.”

“And she will get sick, right?”

“Yes Tim. Real sick.”

“But it will kill the cancer and she will be all right?”

“I pray so Tim.”

“Me too. I know how to help. When I get sick, momma puts cold clothes on my neck. I am going to get a bunch of clothes to make sure she always has one for her neck.”

“Great idea, Tim. I love you man.”

“I love you too.” He says as he gets out of the car. Abe fights tears as he watches him to make sure he makes it into his house. Such a pure heart! He feels blessed to be his friend.

“Thank you God. Thank you for blessing us with Tim. Thank you for the fellowship of this group and the blessing of coming together to help our friend. If it is Your will, may this situation continue to draw her father back to you. Bless us as we sleep tonight and, may we be a blessing to each other. Jesus Name, amen.”

He dries his eyes and heads home with Sarah's face in front of my mind.

When Beth walks in the door, she finds her mom with her best friend and second in command, Gail sitting at the kitchen table and organizing a calendar with a list of names and meals.

“Hi sweetie,” she calls out to her,” your friend Josiah's mom called. She is going to make some meals for Sarah's dad.”

“That's great mom.”

“How's Sarah?”

“She had surgery today. They did a mastectomy and took out her lump nodes.” Both ladies gasp at the news.

“I am shocked it was done so soon.”

“It was bigger then they thought and Sarah wasn’t willing to take any chances after her momma.” She sinks into a chair.

“I am so sorry sweetie. I know you are like sisters.” Gail says.

“Yes ma'am. But, I will be there for her.”

“Do you know when they will be home?”

“Her daddy will be home tomorrow morning, long enough to change and stuff.” She says,” Sarah should be home on Monday.”

“You are exhausted. Go to bed.” Beth stumbles upstairs, changes into pj's. As she drifts off, she hears her mom and Gail making plans to see that Mr. Rose and Sarah arw fed. She falls asleep with a smile.
