The next day James has to go to work so Beth and Josiah take her to her next chemo treatment. It is the same, up to the same nurse. Sarah introduces her and Beth. They bring her the warmed blanket right away.

The only difference is at the end they give her an immune boosting shot. They head home right away. Sarah is exhausted. She collapses on the couch and falls right to sleep.

When she awakes it is with an instant awareness of being very sick. She is unable to move. It is a good thing Josiah and Beth are so close. At her gasp, they jump right up from the chairs by the couch.

"Sarah, are you alright?"

"No, she isn't." Josiah answers as he reaches her side. "Beth, get her something to be sick in." She runs into the kitchen and brings back a big bowl. He takes it from her and gets it under Sarah, just in time. When she can speak again, she tells them she is sorry.

"You can't help being sick, love." Josiah reassures.

"I will bring you a cold rag." Beth heads out to it. When she returns, she places it on the back of her neck.

"That's nice. How did you know how to do that?" She tells her about Tim and what he said. By the time she is done, she is in tears.

"Ah baby, don't cry." Josiah soothes.

"It is just so sweet."

"Do you want some water?" Beth asks.

"Yes, we can try."

She heads back into the kitchen and returns with a glass of water. "Sip it."

She does very slowly stopping when she feels sick again. Josiah feels her face and sends Beth in after another bowl and to reset the rag. He places the rag back on her neck. "That better baby?"

She nods her head, afraid to speak, to open her mouth at that point. He removed the first bowl and then returns to her side.

"Should we call her dad?"

"Not unless we have to. He expected this. I don't want him to have to see her right now. I don't think he is ready yet." Josiah answers. She lays by him and thinks.

"I have never loved you more." She rests her head on his lap, her eyes closed, willing herself not to get sick again. It is a near thing but a battle she wins, that time.
