All the other members of her prayer group meet her at home her first day back. After kisses, hugs, and nice to see you's, she is directed up to her room. Ah, her room, how she had missed it. Julia and Beth have put a small rose bouquet by her bed. It is also cleaner then she remembers.
"Thanks guys for this," she gestures around the room, "but also for supporting me and my daddy through all this."
"But of course." Beth answers.
"We will be here for everything." Tim adds.
"For you and Mr. Rose." Abe agrees.
"For now and however long it takes." Finishes Julia.
"Forever." Whispers Josiah.
"Did y'all practice that?" Sarah asks with a laugh.
"A little." Admits And.
"We want to take you to a movie and supper tonight." Says Tim.
"Sounds fun. But what about daddy?"
"He is going over to my house. We think it is time they meet." Josiah explains.
"So what movie do you want to see?" Julia asks.
"I don't know. Y'all choose."
They end up seeing a remake of Left Behind. She sits holding Josiah's hand, feeling very normal for the first time in a week. They then head over to Micky D's and pigged out on burgers and fries.
"Are you having fun my love?" Josiah asks her.
"Yes. I feel like myself."
"Good. I don't want you to lose yourself in the midst of all this."
"You are very good to me."
"You are easy to be good to."
"Hmm." She leans against him in the booth they are sitting in.
"Sleepy, my love?"
"Yes, but I hate to break up this party."
"Not a problem. I will take you home. They can stay." He moves gently out of the booth, tells their group what they are going to do, before coming back to get her.
"Thanks guys. It is nice to be out doing normal things."
"We will do it again." Tim says.
"I am glad you had fun." Beth hugs her.
"Thanks. Love you sis. Love y'all."
"Love you." They call back.
Josiah put his arm around her and leads her back to his truck. He opens the door and lifts her up in the seat. She puts the seatbelt on, remembering again that her body isn't the same but she doesn't want to think about that tonight. He climbs in beside her, fraps his seatbelt on and, turns to her. "I love you Sarah and would have taken you out alone but didn't for two reasons. First because our group wouldn't hear of it. Second, I wanted our parents to meet first."
"It is okay Josiah. We have plenty of time." She replies, praying she is right.
"Okay kiddeo. Let's get you home."
"Yes please. I have had a ton of fun but I am done in."
When they pull up in front of her house, he looks over to see that Sarah has fallen asleep. He stops the car and debates. He can wake her and see her in. Or, he can carry her in without waking her. After a few minutes debate, he gets out of the car, he gets out of the car and lifts her out secure against his chest. She sighs and snuggles closer. He carries her up to the door and adjusts her to open it.
Now, whether to lay her on the couch or her bed. It is an easy choice. She has missed her bed. He heads upstairs and lays her on her own bed. He then takes off her shoes and takes a seat beside her beads he isn't willing to leave her alone.
