She falls asleep in peace. He feels good about that. He prays it continues and that he contributed to her peace. He watches her sleep for awhile. It is very relaxing. Quite relaxing to watch someone you love sleep. He wonders if that is why parents do it when their children are young and if they still do now.

After awhile, he slips to the other side of the room and calls her house.. It is only 7:30 and he prays he is still awake. He is.

"Josiah, is she okay?"

"She is fine. I am sorry I worried you. I just wanted to tell you that she ate real food tonight. They gave her antibiotics, changed her dressing, said it was healing fine, and gave her some pain meds. She now sleeps peacefully. I wanted you to know, in case you were worrying. You can sleep of now."

"I don't know what to say Josiah. Thank you so much. I tried to sleep but couldn't due to worry over her. Knowing you are with her and responsibile enough to keep me updated, it gives me peace. Thank you. I will see you in the morning."

"Yes sir. Good night." He then calls Beth and gives her the same report as well as the funny way Nurse Sammi acted. "She really thinks we are up to something." He tells her. They talk a bit longer. He tells her good night and heads back over to sit beside Sarah.

Megan comes back in. "Ah, she is asleep."

"Yes ma'am."

"I need to get her vitals."

"Will it wake her?"

"Not if I can help it." She is very careful as she places the blood pressure cuff on, the pulse ox monitor on her finger, before sliding the thermometer in between her slack lips.

"That will wake her for sure." He frets.

"We must monitor for infection. That means monitor her temp. I am sorry." She explains. He gets it just knows she need her rest.  The thermometer beeps.

"Does she have a fever?"

"No. She is fine. I don't need to disturb her again tonight."

"Good. Thanks for checking on her."

"Just doing my job." But she exits with a smile.

After she leaves, he settles into the chair bed. He starts to pray and falls asleep somewhere in the middle. He wakes at Sarah's screams.
