Once we had got back to camp I volunteered to stay with Miles in case he needed anything. Raven walked in and sat next to me but I didn't look at her. "What's going on?" She asked, "You have barely spoken to me since this morning and whenever you have you act like you don't want to talk to me." I didn't respond. "Please just tell me what I did wrong!" She demanded. "You didn't do anything wrong ok! I'm I'm fine!" Miles then mumbled from the other side of the room for some water so Raven offered to go get some for him, a few seconds later I noticed he was shaking so I climbed the ladder up to the second floor to look for a blanket I knew I had seen in here earlier.
As I was rummaging through the bags I heard someone on the ladder behind me, Jasper was climbing down from the top floor with a jar of gunpowder in his hands. He gave me a small nod of acknowledgement before disappearing down. I finally found the blanket buried at the bottom of a pile of useless clothes and other random things. Just then I heard the door to the dropship begin to close. What was going on? I quietly tiptoed to the ladder edge to try and hear what was going on. Just then I heard Jasper shout, "Murphy's got a gun and he just killed Mi--" his sentence was cut short and I heard a loud thud followed by a grunt of pain. Next, I heard Murphy's voice. "If you try and be a hero Bellamy... Jasper's dead!" What the hell was he doing? I had to think this through.
I heard a radio buzz and then Bellamy's voice. "Come on Murphy! You don't want to hurt him, you want to hurt me." A few moments of silence, "Let him go and you can have me!" I could hear Murphy's heavy boots as he paced the room below me. "How?" he finally responded. I knew we both shared a common enemy in Bellamy but I never thought he would act on it. "Simple... he walks out and I walk in." This was a new side to Bellamy I hadn't seen before and I had to respect it, he was willing to risk his life for Jasper.
As soon as I heard the door start to open I took that as my opportunity, I quietly climbed down the ladder and rushed to the corner where I hid behind a metal post. Thankfully I had gone unnoticed. The switch was successful and the door closed once more this time with Bellamy inside. I peered around the side of the pole and saw Murphy pointing a rifle at Bellamy. Shit! What was he thinking? I had to think fast. A gunshot brought me back to the situation in front of me, luckily it was just a warning shot and didn't hit anyone. "Bellamy?" Octavia's voice came through the radio, "Bellamy, are you ok?" Murphy grabbed the radio from his pocket. "If you want to tell your sister your ok... start tying the rope." he pointed with the walkie talkie towards the rope on the floor. With a little hesitation, Bellamy did as he was told and Murphy pressed down on the button to let him talk to Octavia. "I'm fine O, just a misfire. Just tell Raven to hurry her ass up!" Quickly, Murphy put the radio back in his pocket. "Good, now tie those two ends together and toss it over." He ordered. He was going to hang him!
I patted myself down until I found the knife that I still had in my pocket, I pulled it out and flipped it open. Whilst both boys were distracted by the rope I tiptoed out from my hiding spot. "Do you want me to apologize Murphy? I'm sorry ok!" Bellamy practically begged for his life. "You've got this all wrong. I don't want you to say anything. I want you to feel what I felt... and then I want you to die." I finally made it behind Murphy. He was taller than me so this was going to be hard. I wrapped my arm around his neck and then held my knife to his skin. "Hey, dickhead! You forgot to check for stragglers." He flinched as the blade of my knife rubbed against his neck. "Aysel?" He was completely surprised that I was here. "Put the gun down Murphy!" I threatened but he didn't move. Bellamy looked just as surprised as him. "I said put the goddamn gun down!" He still didn't move. "We both want him dead Aysel, just put down the knife and let me do this." "Now you are the one who's got this all wrong. Just because I don't like the way he leads, doesn't mean I want him hung!" Bellamy moved forward but Murphy pointed the gun at him once more. "I'd step on that crate if I were you," Murphy stated. Looking towards the crate that was sat under the now hanging rope. "If you don't put the knife down I'll shoot him right now!" "If you don't put the gun down I will slice your throat." I whispered threateningly in his ear. "Ok fine! I'll put it down." I shouldn't have believed him, as soon as I weakened my grip around his neck he turned around and knocked me in the head with the butt of his gun. I fell to the ground and my vision went blurry, blood already spilling from the fresh cut on my forehead.
Another warning shot was fired at Bellamy's feet. The ringing in my ears was too much and I couldn't hear anything that was being said. As soon as Murphy had the rope tight enough that the other boys neck so that he couldn't move he switched his attention to me. In the fall I had dropped the knife somewhere so all I could do was back away. "Don't fight this Aysel. I don't want to hurt you." He made quick progress in tying me up. Only enough so that I couldn't make a move to stop him. He then moved back over to Bellamy, explaining to him why he was so desperate for revenge. He made a comment about killing his "Grounder- pounder little sister" And that angered Bellamy, he swung a punch hitting Murphy directly in the jaw. A small bang followed by a shriek came from below the floor. "I'm guessing that's her right now." He shot a few bullets at the ground in an attempt to hit whoever was down there, but his bullets ran out and he was left weaponless. I had been prying away at the rope tying my feet together and finally got it undone, I was left with only my wrists tied now but I didn't care. I jumped to my feet and launched myself at Murphy, tackling him to the ground with force. He was dazed from the fall so I got in a few punches but quickly he threw me to the side. He stood to his feet and stumbled over to me, his foot collided with my stomach and knocked the air clean out of me. Just then the door started to open, he looked over for a moment before running over to Bellamy and kicking the crate from beneath him before disappearing up the ladder.
Bellamy was now swinging from the rope, the life quickly draining out of him just like his air supply. I ran over and grabbed onto his legs, attempting to hold him up enough to stop him from dying. Luckily Jasper and a few others including Octavia rushed in guns aimed but when they saw me alone holding him up they hurried to my aid. Jasper helped me hold him whilst Octavia cut the rope. We all fell to the ground with the weight of Bellamy's body crushing us, the rope was quickly removed from his neck and his breaths started to even out again. I looked up the where Murphy had disappeared but the hatch was locked from above.
As soon as he was able to stand, Bellamy was up the ladder, banging on the hatch, and calling out for Murphy. Suddenly, a huge explosion shook the whole ship and I struggle to stay on my feet. Bellamy was quick to break through the hatch though and climbed up. "He's not here!" He coughed over the smoke that was now intoxicating the air. He had blown a hole in the side of the dropship and was now sprinting away somewhere in the woods.
