TW⚠: Kinda smut, not really tho.
"Help..." A broken voice called from behind us. We simultaneously turned around as the last man we ever thought we would see again pushed past the bushes and into view. "Thelonious?" The ex-chancellor had been thought dead since the Ark came down. The man fell to his knees, clutching at his side. "I have a message from the commander... leave, or die..."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They had given us two days to leave. If we didn't we'd be dead by the deadline. "Mrs May!" Burns called out my name. "Yes?" I asked, confused why the head guard wanted to speak with me. "I heard you were looking for a job." That was quick, I didn't actually expect Rob to get me in that quick. "Yeah, I guess so." I didn't want to sound too excited by the offer. "We have open positions on the guard, if you choose to take the position you will be required to go through some training." She explained. "Ok, I'm in. But, why me?" I asked slightly confused. They had refused to allow us access to weapons since they came down and now they want to hand them straight to me. "With this new threat, we are increasing the guard. It has been brought to my attention that you have the natural instinct of saving people, and from what I've heard you seem to be quite good at it." I nodded to show I understood even though I couldn't think of any time I had saved anyone really, other than earlier. "Ok, you will need to begin training soon so get to the weapons tent in fifteen minutes, I'll send someone to mentor you." and with that, she walked away.
"What was that about?" The sudden voice behind me made me jump. "Jesus! Don't do that!" I said turning around to see Raven stood there smiling. "What did Burns want from you?" she asked again. "Apparently I have a job now." I explained. "What?" "I'm a member of the Guard now, and I have my first training in a few minutes apparently." She took a few steps towards me, then leaned up to my ear and whispered. "Meet me afterwards..." And then she left, only looking back quickly to see me watching her leave.
I quickly made my way over to the weapons tent and stood outside waiting. "Aysel!" Rob said as he exited the tent. "Hi!" I replied. "I guess I'm in charge of you then!" he paused and then ushered me inside. "I'm guessing you already know your way around a gun so all we have to do is get you your uniform and then I need to explain the basics." He rummaged around in a pile of clothes and then turned back to me. "This is your kit and here's your baton, as you're only just starting you won't receive handcuffs until later on." I nodded. We spent the next half an hour going through the basic rules I needed to follow and those I needed to enforce. "You start tomorrow so enjoy your last day of freedom!" He joked. "I wouldn't call this freedom but thanks." I said laughing. "Anyway, if you have any questions come find me." I thanked him before disappearing from the tent and heading for my room to drop off my stuff.
After locking my room behind me I set on my way to look for Raven, she had been on my mind since our last encounter so much that I don't think I even listen to half the things Rob told me. All around camp people were murmuring and I guessed the news got out about the grounders. As I turned a corner the beautiful orange glimmers of the setting sun engulfed the sky above me, I couldn't tear my eyes off of it. Suddenly a pair of arms wrapped around my waist from behind. "I thought I said to come find me..." The brunette whispered in my ear and I turned my face to look at her. "If you gave me a chance I would have." I grinned. "Really? You seem more interested in the sunset!" she loosened her grip slightly so I could turn fully to face her. "Can't I be interested in multiple things at once?" I smiled placing my arms over her shoulders. She must have followed me across camp because we were pretty hidden from everyone else. "Depends." "On what?" "As long as it's not another person..." She said slightly serious. "Oh yeah, I've got eyes for everybody here!" I said jokingly, "Especially Jaha, god he's sexy!" I giggle and Raven rolled her eyes in an attempt to conceal her grin. "He's a little out of your league I'd say." She added in, now smiling at her own comment. "Woah! rude! I could so get him, and I can prove it!" I pulled away from her and turned around to walk towards the Ark. "Where are you going?" She called out but I just kept walking. I could hear her footsteps behind me so I picked up my pace a little, I walked into the ark and through the corridors. "Aysel! Where are you going! Slow down!" She still called after me. "To prove myself to you!" I turned another corner. She finally caught up to me and grabbed my wrist to stop me from walking, I turned around to look at her. She quickly looked left and right down the corridor before pushing me against the wall and leaning up so I could feel her breath against my face. "No need to prove yourself, you already have." She reached round beside me and something clicked, I stumbled back and I raised I had been pinned against a door. My eyes scanned the room to try and figure out where we were and in that time Raven closed the door behind her and locked it.
She stood in front of me and her eyes drifted to my lips, my stomach started to tingle. My hand gripped the side of her face as I pulled her in. The kiss started slow and passionate, our lips moving in perfect sync. I felt her arms wrap around my waist and she pulled me closer until our body's fit perfectly together. Her tongue glided across my bottom lip and I fought to keep her out but eventually, I gave in. I began to walk until she was pinned up against the wall in an attempt to gain a little bit of dominance but it didn't last long because she quickly spun us around so I was now against the cold metal wall. Her hands slipped under my shirt and I got goosebumps when I felt her fingers trace over my belly and round onto my back, skillfully she unclasped my bra which then gave her access to my breasts. Her soft hand squeezed my breast and I felt my nipple harden under her touch. I moved my hands to her waist but she quickly grabbed both of my wrists and held them to my side against the wall before pulling back from the kiss. "Let me..." That was all she said before leaning back into the kiss...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After pulling on my new jacket and strapping my electric baton to my belt I headed outside to the weapons tent where I was given a rifle. I found my first post for the day by the fence and set up so I could see any movement from outside. After a few hours of nothing happening a large crowd began to collect in the middle of the camp, I rushed over in case any fights broke out or in case I was needed for something. "By now you have heard the rumours, the grounders are coming!" Chancellor Abby Griffin announced from the front. "We are currently discussing all our options-" She was then cut off by the Ex-chancellor, Jaha. "But just to be safe, you need to pack! We may need to leave at a moments notice!" "But where would we go?" One man called out from the ever-growing crowd. "I have heard of a place, just across the dead zone called the city of light!" Jaha explained. "How do you know we can make it there?" Another person called out. "Because we made it here! I have hope, and that is enough!" He said attempting to sound motivational but to me, it just sounded like bullshit. "It's not enough for us!" I recognised Clarke's voice although I couldn't see her, "Our people are still inside mount weather, we can't just leave them!" She shouted so everyone could hear. "We will come back for them..." this back and forth carried on for a few minutes before the crowd began to disperse.
"Mrs May, we need you to help keep everyone in check, if we need to leave people will freak out and we need to stay calm." Abby explained but I shook my head. "No..." I looked her directly in the eyes and I could see she was taken aback by my response. "My friends are still in that mountain, I can't just leave them behind!" I explained. "We don't have a choice, If the grounders come, as a guard it is now your job to keep everyone safe, and if you refuse to follow orders then maybe this isn't the job for you!" She exclaimed, clearly annoyed. "Then fire me! Because I'm not going to leave my friends to die!" I practically shouted in her face. "She doesn't mean that!" Rob joined into the conversation, now grabbing my arm and pulling me away. "So sorry Chancellor, we will only be a minute," He called back to her as he pulled me away before stopping and glaring at me. "What the hell was that?" He finally released his grip on my arm. "What?" "You can't just talk back to the chancellor like that, don't question your orders!" He raised his voice. "You can't seriously expect me to leave my friends behind!" "If we are all dead then your friends inside the mountain will die anyway, this at least gives us a chance to help them!" I hated that he was right, but I felt guilty that we would all walk away perfectly fine whilst the 47 of the100 are sitting ducks waiting to be killed.
