Three days or so had passed since we got Jasper back to camp and he didn't seem to be improving. Wells had discovered that it was seaweed that the grounders had used on jaspers wound. Clarke, Wells and Finn had then left to go get some and I offered stay behind and keep Jasper alive. I would have gone with them but there was this constant tension between the three of them that I couldn't work out but I figured they would need to talk about it.

The mood in camp had increasingly got worse over the past few days because no one seemed able to get any sleep with the constant groans of pain that came from the upper level of the drop ship. People were pissed off. I had been keeping to myself and watching the camp from the doors of the drop ship for three days because Clarke insisted that I let my injury heal properly. I had spoken to Harper a few more times but other than her and Clarke I hadn't spoken to anyone really.

The day was mostly peaceful and passed quickly, Bellamy had taken a group out hunting and had left Murphy In charge of camp which he seemed to be enjoying a bit too much for my liking. He had been ordering people around like they were his slaves but he seemed to respect Clarke's wishes for me to stay rested so he just let me be. Thank god for that because if I had his constant orders being blared in my ears I probably would have killed someone.

The sun had set and everyone was starting to head to bed for the night. I moved back up the ladder to where Jasper was and sat next to Monty. I had seen the Asian boy around on the Ark before but never spoken to him until the other day. He was in charge of trying to get in contact with the Ark by using what was left of our wrist bands, I had been helping him with what I could but he knew more about engineering than I did so I mostly just observed. I had learned that he was best friends with Jasper so that's why he chose to stay in the drop ship all the time, both to be there when Jasper woke up but also because he needed to concentrate on his work.

I felt like I had become immune to the effects of Jaspers groans but after he let out an abnormally loud one it was clear by the complaints from downstairs that everyone else were only getting more frustrated by it. However, when the noise didn't die down after a few moments like it normally did I went down to see what was going on. When I turned away from the ladder I was met face to face with Murphy himself. "Out of the way sunshine!" His voice was mocking. "and why should I do that?" He tried to push round me but I held my ground, he was taller than me and could definitely take me in a fight but I didn't care. "I've had enough of this! I'm going to kill him so move!" He attempted once more to step around me but I moved in front of him again. At that point I saw Octavia over his shoulder, I knew she was good friends with Jasper and I could trust her, I gave her a knowing look which she understood immediately. Before Murphy could react Octavia had moved swiftly around us and was halfway up the ladder, this time I didn't react fast enough and Murphy managed to get round me too. He started to climb the ladder only a few steps behind Octavia, I reached up and grabbed his foot attempting to slow him down, it only worked for a moment though because he yanked his foot out of my grasp. The force from the pull on my arms must have opened my wound because a sharp pain immediately shot through my chest. "Shit!" I stepped back from the ladder to attempt to reduce the pain. The loud slam of the trapped door made me look up to where Murphy had been locked out. Octavia had managed to lock the door and stop Murphy from getting to Jasper. Thank god! He was banging on the metal with his fist and shouting curses up to where Monty and Octavia were now hidden away.
Murphy lowered himself from the ladder and then faced me again. His gaze quickly flickered down to where blood was starting to seap through the fabric of my shirt. Then he looked back up at me I thought I saw guilt in his eyes but he quickly changed that back to anger. He took a step forward until his face was only a few inches from mine, his hot breath was tickling my face. "This is your fault sunshine!" His voice was loud and resentful, I was about to respond but before I could say anything several screams of agony came from just outside the dropship. Both me and Murphy shifted our gaze to the doors where the few delinquents who were still outside began filing in, still grunting in pain whilst scratching at their skin and coughing slightly. Just behind them and thick cloud of mustard fog began to roll in through the camp, it was heading straight for us. In that moment I was thankful for my quick thinking and fast reflexes. I sprinted to the lever on the wall and quickly took one last look outside to make sure there was no one still outside. When I saw no one I lifted the lever with all my strength and the floor of the door began to lift. The fog was getting closer, but the door finally shut completely, sealing off any entrance that it could get through.

Everyone was rubbing the skin that was exposed and were still grunting in pain. It must be acid fog, I've never seen anything like that but I have read about it, and the effects it can have. Luckily everyone had managed to get inside fast enough so the damage should be fairly short term and easy to treat. I just hoped that Clarke had been able to find shelter somewhere and would be back as soon as the fog cleared.

Now I was stuck in here with everyone, I couldn't escape the crowding because we needed to keep the upper levels closed off so Murphy couldn't get to Jasper. This was officially my worst nightmare, trapped in a small room crowded with sweaty loud teenagers. I wasn't in the mood to argue with Murphy and I needed to tend to my now reopened chest, it wasn't a deep cut so it wouldn't lose that much blood but I didn't want it to get infected. I moved to the corner of the room where some spare medical supplies were and politely asked a few people to move away so I would have some space to work. I sat down on the bench and rummaged through one of the bags until I found a cloth, I didn't want to take my shirt off in front of everyone so I just wriggled around a little bit to get the current bandage off from under the shirt. It was easier than I thought to clean up and then stick on a new bandage so I was finished fairly quickly.

I closed my eyes for a moment, breathing in and out trying to calm down a little bit, we were going to be stuck in here for a while and I didn't want to be angry the whole time. I felt the wood of the bench bend slightly at the weight of someone sitting down next to me. I opened my eyes and turned to find Harper sat there. "You okay?" She asked, concern laced in her voice. I like Harper, she was nice and never asked much of me. "Yeah I guess... how about you?" She smiled softly and moved her hand to take mine out of my lap, she squeezed it softly and then turned her head to look round the room. "I'm good, we are all ok because of you quick thinking!" I looked to the floor and fiddled with the fabric of my shirt with my free hand. "You saved us all May." I then looked up at her and smiled a little, "If I didn't do it someone else would have, so don't give me any credit." I hadn't even thought about what could have happened if I didn't close the door. She let go of my hand and gave me a sincere smile, "You should get some sleep. There's nothing you can do until the fog is gone and I think all of us could use some rest." I nodded in agreement, I was exhausted and she was right, I couldn't get up to help Jasper or monty and there was nothing else I could do. I leaned over and rested my head on her shoulder, she in turn rested her cheek on top of my head. We stayed sat like that until we both slipped into a restful sleep.

I woke to three loud bangs. I had gotten used to waking up urgently, to loud noises and not to my own mental alarm clock. I hadn't been the only one to wake to the noise, several people had sat up from their positions and were rubbing the sleep from their eyes. There it went again, three loud knocks echoed through the steel room. "Anyone there!" The shout was muffled but loud enough for everyone to hear, no one moved. After a few moments of silence the unlocking of the trapped door above us, followed by Octavia jumping down from the ladder. "Bellamy?" She called out as she reached the door. "O! Open the door!" She pulled down the lever and the wall quickly moved down and open,  revealing several of the delinquents who had left to hunt yesterday, as well as Clarke, Finn and Wells. Thank god they were ok. Octavia didn't seem to take much care in her brother or the rest of the group, instead she pushed past everyone.

On the floor in front of her, I saw a limp body lying on the ground, face covered by a coat.
She knelt down and removed it to reveal Atoms lifeless face. I had seen the two of them together around camp but it was clear how much he meant to her by the way she stormed off with tears spilling out from her eyes. Bellamy tried to talk to her but she wasn't having any of it so he walked up to Murphy instead, I didn't pay attention to their conversation until Bellamy grabbed him by his shirt and started shouting in his face whilst shaking him violently. "My what! My what!" He said. Everyday Bellamy earned a little more respect from me, this time it was because I enjoyed watching Murphy shaking in his boots. He was terrified and I loved it!
