We sit in the car in silence. It's comfortable, at least, it is for me. I can hear Vincent's thoughts. They won't stop. He's worried about...his mother, school, the job offers from Monty, his marks, the pig and other things. Nothing I can help with. I get that he's worried and that his thoughts are private, so I won't say anything. This whole mind reading thing is still new to me, well kind of. Using it in this world it is since it's never happened before. There has to be a way to turn it off. Whatever, if I'm supposed to find out, then that's it. That's how my life will go. With the story.

"Alluro, where are we going?" Vincent asks suddenly.

"Hmm?" I respond cocking my head towards him, "We are going to Bruce's house."

"Why?"

"I need to pick somethings up. Don't worry we're not going inside."

"Okay. What are we picking up?"

"You'll see."

"Ally. Ro. I'm stuck between those two choices."

"For whom?"

"You."

"Why?"

"Well, you said that it was okay to give you a nickname, remember?"

"Yeah." I say softly.

"Well, I'm not sure if Ally suited you better than Ro. Or if Ro was a lot nicer than Ally. But now that I think of it, your name doesn't really suit you. Alluro. Alluro Kitsune."

"Hold on. We're not getting married at what seventeen?"

"No, no, no, no. I didn't mean it like that. Kitsune is a common surname for foxes. How'd you know my age?"

"I didn't. It was a guess. Anyways, my mother liked different names."

"What does your name mean then?"

"Why do you want to know?"

"Like you said," Vincent says clearing his throat to imitate my voice, "my mother liked different names."

I let out a small smile. "Alluro is broken into two parts. 'Allu' and 'ro.' Allu comes from Alluka, meaning Gift of God. Ro is short for Roanna, meaning a woman as sweet as a rose. Alluro means–"

"The Gift of God is as sweet as a rose."

"Correct."

"Then, I'll call you Ally. Short for Alluka meaning Gift of God."

We arrive at the house. I park outside the garage closest to the door. As we get out of the car, the garage door opens. Inside is where my other car is. I tell Vincent to wait by the entrance. I walk into the garage to unlock it and start the engine. I reverse out and park the car next to my purple one. I jump out of the car.

"Why do you have a two seater, matte silver four-wheel drive?" He shouts.

"This? I made it myself. Didn't turn out too great, did it?" I respond, "Why are you shouting? It's a silent engine."

"How?"

"Like I said, made it myself. Come on, help me with some things now, will you?"

I open my purple car boot and take out one of the black boxes I have. I tell Vincent to put into the four-wheel drive and hop in the passenger seat. I pick up the spare clothes I have in my car double checking to make sure I have clothes for Vincent, which I do and throw that in the, quote, 'two seater, matte silver four-wheel drive' along with our bags. We drive. We set off for the mountains.

"So, how high is this place?" Vincent questions.

"High." I respond.

"Okay, but did this super high place have to be so far away?"

"You sound like you're in a better mood now. Why don't we turn back?"

"No, thank you."

"Trust me, you'll love it. I'll teach you how to drive this thing and you'll be spending all of your time there."

Just like me, only not for the same reason.

I turn left onto a dirt track and stop.

"Are you ready?" I smirk.

"For what?" He replies fearfully looking at me, "Ally. Come on, at least smile to make it more believable. You don't smile and your eyes hardly ever show any emotions."

Emotions, funny. If only you knew.

"Well, that's just who I am." I say depressing the mood, "I don't show any emotions because it's just who I am. Even if I did, it drives people away."

We sit in silence. After a while I take a deep breathe in and accelerate up the dirt road. The dirt road only takes us so far up the mountain before it turns into forest. I dodge trees, avoid sharp rocks and drive. We slowly descend the other side of the hill until we meet a small river. I stop to look around for the worn-out part of the forest on the other side of the river where I usually park my 4WD (4-wheel drive). Bingo. I drive through the river and into the park. The car sprays water out to the side as we pass through scaring Vincent a little. I cut the engine and walk round to the back to get to the boot. I unzip the back and open the black box Vincent put in. Inside, are all the thing necessary for climbing, rope, chalk, harnesses. Just in case I need them, not that I use them. I pick out the chalk pouch. It's still full. I toss it at Vincent who clips it to his pants. I put some of Vincent's stuff into my laptop bag and sling it over my shoulder. I close the car and lock it. I start walking but quickly realise that he's not following. I grab his hand so that he walks. We make our way to the highest point on the mountain.
