ALLURO:

I never would have thought he would say that. At least, I know where she is. Six feet under. What should I do now? I didn't drive here so I don't have my car. I also just can't turn into my demon form either now that I know I'm more capable of controlling that form. I guess I should pay Vincent a visit. I wonder how long it's been since I left. I hardly know what days are in a week let alone what time of day it is. Most of the time I use the sun and my shadow. Judging from my shadow it's around two in the afternoon. It's not always accurate but like I said it's a guess. I'll pick something up along the way to give to him and his mother.

The city streets are busy, but since there's a fox in the heart of the city, being me, they all try to avoid me. Making my path to the flower shop and patisserie fairly easy. I choose out a bouquet of Hyacinths and some cakes.

Looks like I will have to walk since they don't allow foxes on trains.

I start walking towards the are where Vincent lives when a little girl points out the prince's car.

"Look mummy! It's Prince Clement's car!"

"It is too, sweetie." The mother replies.

As if the child's observation was heard by the prince's driver, the car pulled over to the curb side. People from around the area dashed over nearly bouldering me over just to catch a glimpse of the prince. I kept walking, ignoring everyone. I pulled out my earphone and pressed play on my phone. I continued walking.

"There!" A foreign voice yelled in my head, "that's her! That's her!"

It hadn't come from the music, which made me wonder...who's voice can I also hear?

I ignored it, not wanting to know who it belonged to, only I was stopped in my tracks by a group of men dressed in suits and white gloves. I went to step around them, but the continued to block my path.

"Young miss, you are aware that if you are to avoid a person or animal obstructing your path, it can result in your death. Correct?" One of the men confirmed.

Usually playing deaf would work, but I had my earphones in so not really, "I am aware, but I also do not care. Please leave me alone."

I try stepping around them again, but any attempt of mine is futile, "I have an important meeting that I am going to be late for if you do not leave my sight. Please leave me alone. You have caused enough of a scene. At this rate, the day of my execution will be in an hour's time in the town square."

"Young miss, you do not have the power to tell us what we can do. You will be executed on the prince's order. You are to come with us, so that we can discuss further details regarding the prince." The same man informs in a monotone voice.

"No," I reply back stubbornly and annoyed, "Foxes aren't allowed to meet the royals and that is written in the law book. No exceptions."

"That has been overruled by the prince's order."

"I won't go."

"You will go."

"No."

"Yes."

Arguing with this man, is really annoying. He won't let up and continually tells me to go with him. what does he not understand about the word 'no'?

"Please, miss fox. I just want to talk to you about the ball. Is it too much to ask? In return, I can provide you safe passage to your destination." The same foreign voice asks with sincerity that I can hear in my head.

"Don't tell me, your young prince has found his saviour and you suspect it is me." I ask frustratedly.

"Yes, he has. You."

"See there's your problem. There's not a single good bone in me that would dare to save anyone. I am not the animal you are looking for, no matter how you think I fit the description, I did not rescue your prince. Now if you would be a lovely kind sir, you would know to leave a lady alone when she says, move the heavens out of my way and let me pass."

I take a step back and break into a short sprint, gaining enough speed to jump over them. I land successfully on the otherside of them.

"Thank you." I reply sarcastically and run off.

Two more street to go and then I'm on the street Vincent lives in. Such a pain, they found out who I am. It doesn't matter, I can keep running from them and I can always hide in very convenient places where no one goes. As my mind wonders I realise that my feet have taken me all the way to Vincent's house without really remembering where it is.

I guess, he and his mother were the family that bought my house all those years ago. I can't believe I met him back then, when I was lost, and he tried to find my home. What was it he said?

"It'll be alright. I'll take you home." I laugh quietly to myself, "What was he thinking back then? It will be alright? I'm far from alright let alone, okay."

The pit in my chest isn't shrinking in the slightest since he's been around. I only forgot about it sometimes when I wasn't at his home, but when I was alone again, I felt how big it had gotten. I used to be able to shove it down further within me, but now I can't. Why am I thinking about this? Am I getting cold feet about going in or becoming the story to destroy it for good? Maybe, I came out too late or too early. I don't like time. It's one thing I learnt not to look at. I only focused on the road when racing. The laps. Never the time, but everyone else looked at it. Every time the number of laps you had left decreased, it makes you feel your life getting shorter. I love that feeling, of nearly dying but never dying because it doesn't happen. That's how it feels for me at least. Though it turns out I'm pretty good at it.

"Heh, I guess I am what he said. A coward like him." I admit to myself.

I stopped at his front gate and looked towards the front door. out of the corner of my eye, I see Vincent standing in the middle of the path only a few paces away.

"Ally?" He asks with shock written all over his face.

He looks as if he missed me or thought I came back to life. Who knows how long he was standing there, I didn't hear him at all. Maybe I was too deep in thought to notice anything.

"What are you doing here?" He continues.

I hesitate unsure of how to answer, "I came to –"

I didn't get to finish my sentence before I'm embraced by his body. He squeezes me tightly, to the point where I'm unable to breathe, but obviously I still can because I'm part demon. I don't necessarily have to breathe...if I...don't...want to...I think. The pit in my chest turns into an ache. Something I've never felt before. It's strange and I don't like it.

"I thought I lost you." He whispers, his voice cracking, eyes filling up with tears of relief.

It hit deep within me. The ache grew stronger, and all these words started running through my head.

Get off me! Stop! Get off me! Get off me! Let go! Get off me! Let me go! Get off! Get off me! Please let go! Let go! Stop embracing me! Stop it! Get off! I'm filthy! Let go of me! Get off! Get off me! Get off me! Let go! Get away from me!

They were all silenced by the shaking of his body as he held onto me for dear life.

"It'll be alright, I'll take you home." I reply quietly comforting him.
