I drive Vincent back home. There's little chatter between us since the radio was on some channel with music. I can tell he's uneasy sitting in the car with me. Before we left, I put the invitations in my glove box, Vincent saw what was inside but wasn't surprised to see a box of condoms and a gun.

He's been silent this whole time. Even though his thoughts have been active, he hasn't said anything. He just keeps singing in his head. Should I let the wind hit out faces while we drive? It's easy to drive with the windows down, or should I accelerate a little to add a little bit of fun? I think I'll do it.

I press my foot down harder on the gas pedal and speed up around the turns and straights on the way back to his house. He seems to notice but doesn't care just continues normally.

It's a good thing I'm a racer, huh? And that I built this car as a race car for fun, but since I can't use my own stuff to race and since it isn't within the guidelines of a race car, I race in it, but it does mean I can have a little more fun on the roads.

There's a turn coming up and I adjust my speed so that I can do a little something for Vincent. I can feel that he's getting a little scared in his seat since his heart is literally all I can hear. I can feel myself getting excited, accidentally tapping into Hellfire to enhance my senses. The night is so much clearer, and I can hear so much. There are no other cars on the road except for me.

"Ally, there's a turn there. Aren't you going to turn? Ally?" Vincent says worriedly looking at me.

I ignore him and get closer and closer to the turn before finally pulling my hand brake and turning my steering wheel. We drift round the bend. As soon as the bend ends, I reset myself to speed down the straight for the next one. I can feel Vincent's relief and hear his laughter. I do it at any bend where I know I can do it safely, of course if I was here alone, I wouldn't care. We arrive at the front of his house.

Damn it, I must've had too much fun drifting that I can't calm down enough to stop using Hellfire. Who's that?

There's a strange figure standing outside Vincent's house. It looks like...

"Shaide." I whisper underneath my breath.

I get out of my car as quick as I can and run over to him. If he's here, then something is wrong, that or he's here to take me back because my transition is nearly at its time. I look up to see the moon. It's nearly full, in one more night it will be.

"Shaide, what's wrong? If it's time, I will go with you." I say cautiously.

"I do not know the reasons of your actions for showing the boy the memories but be careful. You know the reasons why we don't share our memories, what others can do with it. I'm not here to take you back either, I sensed you met with the prince and decided to see you, but you were nowhere to be found, of course that place is the last place I would think to check since it's abandoned. Are you sure this will be a good idea? You know who they are."

"I know, Shaide. That's why if I want to get rid of them, this is a good way to."

"But you know that if they find out who you are, it's game over. You know that you hold all our memories that I no longer have. I only know what needs to be done in order for you to get stronger. Once you are strong enough, we will become one and everything will be yours."

"Shaide, I know that. I let go of all my earthly attachment and this one will not get in the way."

"They are the Gods! They will not let you have him!" He yells, his demonic voice showing, "I came to warn you that they are plotting something to get rid of you. You know that the prince is not fully one of them. You know the consequences and what they will do to you."

"I understand, Shaide. Please trust me a little."

"Fine, I will."

"Thank you, there is something else you wish to say."

There's a pause before he speaks using the demon language, "His mother has not returned, nor is she where her scent followed to the house a few streets away. I am worried that this will be the last time you will ever see this family."

My eyes widen in shock. The last time? No, I will not let that happen. They will not take Vixin away from Vincent. Even if she...no, she's alive.

"Shaide, can we start it now? Or is it too early?" I ask in the demonic tongue.

"If we start now, you still won't make it in time to find her alive. I fear that she may already be dead." He responds in the demon language, "this is only one loss compared to what you have gone through."

"It's not me. He won't live if his mother is dead."

"Then so be it. Either his mother dies, or he dies."

"No, they both deserve to live in this world. They did nothing wrong." I yell in frustration, this time in English.

"Then you decide who lives and who dies. I will see you on the ninth night of the full moon to start your transition. I will be sure to hammer it into your weak body so that you will live." He informs in the demon tongue and disappears.

Vincent pulls me into a hug.

I won't let you die trying to protect us. If there's something wrong with us, I will die trying to save you and my mother. My mother and I share a bond stronger than anything in the world. It's made of our blood and promises to each other. If something was wrong, I would know. Our bond is different, ours is built on trust, and I trust you enough to let you go. If you need to go, then go, I will follow you through the pits of Hell where Hellfire burns brighter than you, and come out victorious against the flames. His voice comforts in my head.

I need to tell him that his mother went missing, but how do I tell him?

"She's gone, isn't she? Far away, right?" He says aloud trying to keep his voice from catching in his throat, "I know she isn't at home the lights aren't on."

I go still. The pit in my chest feels heavy again. This is all my fault. I didn't take care of them enough. I left them alone. Shaide was right. I was going to lose them. Either he dies or she dies, and she decided to die...
