I yawn, stretching out my tired arms and back. The final class of the day and then I can go home. Lunch passed peacefully. I wasn't dragged into the toilets again by Marcus. Maybe the Goddess Fox did hear me. Today must be a good day then. Last class I have is my favourite, history. Not just any history this time, this unit is solely dedicated to the story. I like the class not just because of the history we get taught about Rayloss, the story and other things, but because I can ask questions freely. It's in the book of laws for foxes.

"Alright, then class. Who here wants to read out the story to the class?" The teacher asks, "no one volunteers? Do I need to choose someone?"

The whole class remains silent. If you make eye contact, you are reading aloud.

"Alright then, Carla, read."

Her chair scrapes the floor as she stands up to read.

"Thousands of years ago," Carla starts, "there lie four races living peacefully on the lands of Rayloss, the Gods, the demon race, the animals and humans. Each lived together harmoniously in the capital of the lands which is now modern-day city. The Gods treated everyone fairly and most of the time didn't quarrel with the demon race, though sometimes they did. When the two races fought it was usually done in the Pits. The Pits was a place where anyone could fight whether they be Gods, demons, animal, or human. The demons would win against the Gods in combat, but the Gods were always able to win over the demons through civil methods. One day, a fox visited the Gods and said that the demon race had wiped out the entirety of the animals in a rural town. When the Gods asked for evidence, he took them back to the animal towns to show them the bloodied scenes. This infuriated the Gods, since the closest towns to the demons were the humans, they asked them if they knew anything of this or if they did it themselves. They did not commit such an attack on their closest friends. Since they did not do it, there was only one race left to blame. The demon race. having though denied it, they still went to war against them. This led to the war that ended all. The animals and humans sided with the Gods until the Gods started killing them, accusing them of killing their lower ranked Gods which are easier to kill than the higher ranked. The animals tried to keep whatever alliance they had left to try and fight against the demon race. Eventually, not even the animals could keep their pact with the humans. It was every man for himself. After the war, the fox who visited the Gods revealed himself and his true intentions."

"Thank you. Vincent, continue to read from where she left off."

"He was indeed a fox, but he was never accepted by the animal race from where he was born. His father was a demon while his mother was an animal. Neither race accepted him as their own. He wanted to see the races destroy themselves to be on top of the world. He succeeded in doing so. The Gods and demons were furious at the actions caused by a mere half-breed who caused a war for no reason. The humans and animals were powerless when it came to imbuing curses on others, so the Gods and demons gave their final curse before vanishing for good. The demon fox was cursed with eternal reincarnation in a fox and hate on their entire fox breed no matter if they commit good deeds or bad deeds, shame will be brought upon you. The fox laughed and said that their breed, is the strongest of animals and will one day rewrite history. The death of the half-breed fox was not recorded as he disappeared from the battle grounds. The Gods and demons sealed themselves away into Heaven and Hell. Years on, the curse on the fox still lives through the bodies in which he comes back in."
