Writer's Notes I: funny thing is that the cover's immagine of Gill from the graphic novel isn't even that creepy, yet it scared the hell out of me the first time I read it.

<< Well well, look at the "oh-so-good" Talons of Peace... >>
<< Go away. >>

Kestrel, Dune, Webs and Morrowseer were in the dungeon of the SkyWing's palace, each one off them in a cell and with eavy chain on it's paws and metal rings on the wings, keeping them from opening completely and making them unable to fly.
The queen herself came to see them, Chameleon following closer under the "mask" of Soar, both of them grinning with satisfaction.

<< Ow, aren't you happy to see me? Your old queen? >>
<< Where are the dragonets?! >>

Asked Webs, grabbing the cell's bars with his claws and holding them with enough strenght to make his knuckles pale.
One of the guards stricked him in the snout with the shaft of his spear and growled at him to not scream at their queen, but the SeaWing quickly got up again and growled back with a braveness that he never demonstrated before.

<< Oh my, so you have some guts! >>

Laughed Chameleon.

<< Were you so brave even when you didn't help these poor dragonets? They're fine by the way, they'll be well cared for. >>
<< If you try to hurt them... >>
<< You what? Soon enough you won't even be able to talk or see straight... >>

Webs didn't like the other dragon's words, filled with cruel amusement as he walked near the cell in front of his one, where the sillouette of a dragon lying down was barely visibile.

<< ... you know the effect of dehydration on a SeaWing, right? >>

Webs felt the colour drain from his face as he started praying for Clearsight to have mercy and help him.
That was such a cruel torture that in his former realm was considered immoral to use, even against criminals. A dehydrated SeaWing would soon loose their mind, becoming unable to see or think straight, at the point of attacking other dragon and hurting their own body to draw blood, just to feel something wet on the skin. After all the pain came death and the dragon in that cell didn't look like he was far from it, his pale and dry skin looked like an enormous dead leaf fell from it's tree in autumn, it didn't even looked like a SeaWing anymore.

<< Looks familiar to you? >>
<< N-no... why? >>

Scarlet grabbed a wing of the prisoner and extended it with enough strenght to make him came in sight and slam against the bars with a noisy moan of pain, yet the dragon still tried to bite and scratch her. Webs still didn't recognize that poor dragon, but his eyes istantly noticed the motive on his wings, a trait that only royal SeaWings had was the spiral and starburst's markings glowing on their wings' membranes and there was only one missing royal SeaWing that he heard of before that day.

<< King Gill?! >>
<< Correct~ being allied with our enemies, we couldn't just let him go after capturing him, right? >>

The king glared at him, he didn't recognize the SeaWing calling his name and just growled and licked his lips rapidly in a futile attemp to wet them, his tongue was like a slice of meat left under the sun. Webs was disgusted and terrified at that point, he knew that dragons so cruel existed, but he never thought he would be the one ending in their claws, putting the poor king out of his misery would have been an act of pity since nobody knew if that process could have been reversed and his mind restored.
