It was deep in the night and dark figures were flying in the sky, perfectly blending in it's black horizon and clouds until they were invisible as only RainWings could become.
Greeatness was flying in front of the group, searching with her eyes for any sign of guards around the SkyWings's palace, she had send Shapeshifter and other two soldiers to get their attention and take them far from their posts.
"I hope their fi-"<< Princess, I'm here. >>
Shapeshifter's form flew out from some clouds, his fangs exposed in a victorious grin.
<< You seem pretty content with yourself, did everything go according to the plan? >>
<< Yes, Your Highness, Astral and Bauxite are still taking care of the guards and sent me back to report. >>
<< That's good! Are you sure you know how to enter? >>
<< I'm the best spy in whole Phyrria, they never saw me before, they won't now. >>He said as he lowered his voice in a silent giggle.
<< they know nothing about NightWings, they're gonna get their asses handled to them like a pulp of meat that's being grinded. >>
<< ... yeah... ? >>The princess shook her head, but smiled too.
<< And my mother will finally see that I'm not a a weakling or a disappointment. >>
Shapeshifter patted her head gently, ignoring the look on the other NightWings as he stopped touching their princess with such casualty and landed in the arena, gesturing for them to follow.
<< We can easily access the dungeons from here. >>
Whispered Shapeshifter, rapidly lowering his tone as he looked around.
"Of course, some guard might still be there."
Thought Greatness with a shiver.
The place was big, silent and creepy, some of the NightWings shivered at the thought of stepping over the blood of the dragons that were killed in that place, like their rotten bodies could have gotten out from the dirt to attack them like in some old legends about dead dragons coming back alive to eat living ones¹.<< This is the entrance, it goes right in the dungeon. >>
Explained Shapeshifter as he took them to a crate-door and motioned at the tunnel behind it.
<< We have to be quick, a patrol could come and spot us. >>
<< Hunter, Trickster, you make sure to tell us if somebody comes, we'll hear you don't worry. >>Ordered Greatness as the two NightWings bowed to her and went in two different corners of the arena, hiding on the shadows and keeping an eye out for any sign of SkyWings.
The princess and the others stared at the crate, trying to find a way to open it or a weak point to hit, even if the second option could have caught too much attention.<< I still don't get why you didn't try to talk to them like Princess Blister suggested, Your Highness, this is dangerous. >>
Said Void, another dragoness that was trying to lift the gate.
<< You heard of what Burn and Scarlet do to prisoners, right? >>
Asked Shapeshifter sounding almost annoyed.
<< Well, as a spy, I saw what they do, she could have tried to talk with Queen Moorhen, but those two would have killed or kidnapped her istantly. It's safer to be here with us. >>
<< Damn, what kind of sick masochist enjoy heing the subject of such a monstrosity of a ruler? >>Void asked herself as she and the others managed to pull up the gate with a screeching sound of protest by the mechanism that wasn't made to work like that.
