Giggling, Starflight slithered out of the dark corner he was trying to hide in, a pretty difficult thing considering the room itself lacked of places with enough shadow to blend in.
He let the other dragonets away from him and waited a few seconds before charging at them, trying to grab Sunny's tail first and failing at it once the dragoness used her smaller size to slip past his paws and out of reach. The NightWing turned around quickly and patted Peril's left wing, the SkyWing was still getting used to the thought of being safe to the touch and often forgot to keep her distance.

<< Oh damn... did I hurt you? >>

Asked Peril looking at his paw.

<< No, you're perfectly in control. >>

The dragoness smiled enthusiastically, looking at her bright scales and the lack of smoke rising from those.

<< What did Chameleon say about this? >>
<< Just that I need to focus with my mind to decide the state of my Firescales. >>
<< Well, right now you're pretty relaxed and happy, I guess your feelings and state of mind have a big influence. I wish my scrolls had something about this... >>

After Scarlet and Chameleon rescued them, the queen had sent her guards to retrieve the dragonets possessions and Starflight was able to retrieve each of his precious scrolls.
Yet none of them could tell him about Firescales and animus magic like he wanted to, while that wasn't a surprise, he still felt the aching pain of a mind hungry for knowledge and informations about the "unknown".

<< Why don't you write your own scrolls? >>

Asked Sunny and Clay smiled with her.

<< Yes. You're a clever dragon Starflight, you could do your own research and write your own scrolls. >>
<< Well, I suppose it won't hurt to try. >>

Said the NightWing, a bit embarrassed by the praises.
"I never thought about becoming a researcher... do I even count as one if I don't officially work in the field?"

Said Sunny jumping on her paws and pulling his tail.

<< We can play the study game now and write all the information about hybrids like me, magic and everything dragons don't know about NightWings and RainWings. >>
<< Isn't it just studying? Studying it's boring. >>

Sighed Tsunami.
Glory gave her a gentle hit on the flank with her tail.

<< Come on granny, games are boring only if you make them boring. >>
<< Oh, I'll show you who's the granny! >>

The SeaWing jumped on the other dragonets, pinning her to the ground and using her weight to immobilize her, then she proceeded to tickle Glory until her scale started shifting continuously and the RainWing began to squirm and beg for mercy.

<< So, who's the granny? >>

Asked Tsunami stopping her assault to let Glory breath normally for a bit and give her an answer.

<< No one. >>

Croaked the defeated dragonet, her voice hoarse from laughing.

<< Let's start studying~ >>
<< Maybe I can help with that. >>

The dragonets jumped in fear at the sudden voice, none of them noticed Chameleon sneaking in the room, even with his hoarse breathing and lack of camouflage.

<< Hi Chameleon! >>
<< Hi Sunny, hi guys. I bring great news. >>

The dragonets quickly went to sit around him, eager to listen.

<< We got your former captor to talk about your families and where you come from. Since Burn and Moorhen are our allies, I thought that we could start by visiting their kingdom to search for Clay and Sunny's relatives first, since to meet the others we'll need to talk with their queens first. >>

The dragonets jumped around enthusiastically, even those that knew would have to wait before meeting her families, they were happy for their siblings.

<< You should still train your new ability Peril, it's a big responsibility and before going out there, you must make sure you can control it. >>

Said the young dragoness, hiding the sadness she felt at the thought of not being able to accompany her new friends and her crush on their adventure.
But the determination she felt was real, she wanted to show them all -Clay in particular- what she could do and how she could be helpful to them.

As the SkyWing went on her way, the dragonets turned to Chameleon again to ask more about the travel, all pretty impatient to go.
