<< Fascinating, isn't it? >>

Queen Moorhen stared at what remained of a young dragonet in front of her and felt and shiver running down her spine.
He was on his hind paws, with the wings spreaded and the front ones that "clawed" at the air like he was trying to catch a butterfly; his fangs exposed in an innocent smile and, if it wasn't for his cold, dead eyes, she could have thought he was still alive. Nothing looked "strange" about that little SandWing, except for some white patches spreading trough his body, making him look like a strange dragon-leopard hybrid, on the pedestal there was a plate, on the plate was a single sentence: "Tempest: male, 3 weeks since the egg atched, vitiligo".

<< So that's why he's here... >>

Whispered the MudWing and felt cold fangs biting at her stomach.
MudWings didn't have a big parental instinct, they laid their eggs and then left the dragonets to look after each other, yet the sight of that embalmed dragonet reduced to a statue for Burn's museum nauseated her.

<< Yes, I've never seen a SandWing with vitiligo before, this specimen is perfect for my museum. >>

Said proudly the princess at her side, her gaze running over many other specimens she collected: there were two twins dragonets, born with part of their body attached like they were one, an albino dragoness, a melanic one, some poor hybrid that had the misfortune to meet the SandWing princess, one dragonet born with wings that were too small and many others.

<< Oh, will you end up in here too when you die? >>

Asked sarcastically queen Moorhen, she wasn't that surprised when the other just grinned with a certain sick pleasure and answered: << But of course! I'll make an exposition of the biggest rulers of this kingdom and I'll be the first! >>.
Sometimes Moorhen regretted to be allied with two cruel dragonesses like Princess Burn and Queen Scarlet, but they were really powerful and her kingdom was right in the way of the SandWings' one, she needed to make sure her subjects were safe and if the solution was to take part in the war with them, then she was not goingn to complain.

<< What a pity I wasn't able to put here my mother's body, she was a fantastic queen and everybody should be able to admire her once again. >>
<< Burn, I'm sure she's... really proud. >>

Of course she couldn't know what a dead dragon was thinking in the place where the spirits went after death, but she could perfectly guess that noone that was a good dragon could be proud of something like that and Queen Oasis had been far from a good dragoness.
There was a reason after all if she was feared and Burn was her favourite daughter, they were equal.
That moment of silence was suddenly interrupted by a SandWing soldier that called princess Burn and, bowing to both of the dragonesses, announced the visit of queen Scarlet.

<< Let her in. >>

Ordered Burn.
Moorhen just sighed, Scarlet had send them a message about the capture of the Talons of Peace and the dragonets she "saved" two dsys before, the SandWing princess requested a meeting in her personal museum and she had to agree, not exactly happy at the thought of being alone with the two dragoness.

<< Burn! My dear friend! Hi to you too, Moorhen. >>
<< Good afternoon to you, Scarlet~ >>

Their voices were filled with honey and sweetness, but the fake joy residing in them was almost as clear as the day, she knew that behind their smiles hid an equal desire for power and greatness, the moment they'd meet something precious that only one could have got, the two "friends" would have been at each other's throat.

<< So, how are the prisoners? >>
<< Still whining and swearing revenge, the usual. But I'm not here for them, but to give you two some presents. >>
<< A present? You shouldn't have. >>
