Tension is high over the next couple of months. Joe spends as little time as necessary at rehearsals. He learns the routines fast and knows all the new songs. So not being there isn't really that big of a deal. He uses training for the marathon as an excuse. But everyone knows it's because of the exchange he had with Amber.
Joe had words with Jordan about her as well. The other guys have stayed out of it and they think Joe staying away is working out for the better right now. Jordan just wants his daughter to be happy. Joe feels betrayed by one of his oldest friends. Joe thinks Jordan should see his side of things, not just Amber's. For the most part Donnie and Danny agree, Jon though has a hard time going against his brother and niece. This is the reason they stay out of it. They haven't felt this divided since they split in 1994. Donnie, Danny and Jon know something has to change or the group won't make it.
While the past couple of months have been tense for the guys, Amber has spent her time engrossed in her music. Writing, recording and definitely steering clear of all things New Kids.
She's even given up on ever reconciling with Joe. He's right about everything. She left him. She doesn't deserve his forgiveness. She decided to move on with her life. After her little exchange with Joe that day in the studio, her producer Bradley had taken a real interest in her music. And her. They started spending more time together in the studio.
Eventually Bradley started asking to see her outside the studio, she'd turned him down several times. She just wasn't that ready to move on. Then one day she was. To his surprise she finally agreed to have dinner with him. She'd really enjoyed his company. He was smart, funny, very sweet and extremely good looking. They had a lot in common.
It's been about a month and they've spent all of their time together, except when she's got Joey. She hasn't introduced him to her son yet. She doesn't feel right allowing another man into Joey's life without talking to Joe first. But she can't talk to Joe about it right now. It's just not the right time. Bradley understands and he's fine with how things are now. But he tells her he'd really like to meet her son one day soon. Amber promises him that soon she'll talk to Joe.
"Thank you for understanding Brad. It's just such a difficult situation between Joe and I. And it's already causing so much tension with the group. I think it should wait until right before they go on tour."
Brad moves closer to her on the couch. "Babe, I completely understand. I'm not pushing. I just want you to know I'm ready to meet him, when you're ready." He pushes her hair off her forehead and leans forward. Amber leans towards him too, until her lips press against his. They've shared many kisses over the last month, but this one feels different. It's more needy. He needs her and she finally realizes she needs him.
She needs him so she can finally, truly move on from Joe. Because as long as she's alone, she'll never give up on him. Given no other reason she'd wait on Joe forever, and that's no way to live her life. But Bradley, he's here and he seems to genuinely like her. And wants to be part of her life. Joe's made it very clear he will never love her again. So she needs Bradley, to force her to move on with her life.
Amber moves to Bradley's lap, straddling him. She kisses him more passionately now, slipping her tongue into his waiting mouth. His hands move up her back, pulling her more tightly against him. Amber moans against his mouth when his hands grip her hair and gently pull her head back exposing her neck. She moans a little louder when she feels his lips, then teeth, slide across her neck down to her collarbone. "Brad, would you like to move this to my bedroom?" She stands and reaches for his hand. "Are you sure? I know you wanted to take things slowly."
She can't help but smile at him. He's such a nice guy, he's never pushed or pressured her for more than what she was willing to give him. Which has been very little over the last month. They've kissed a lot, but not much more. They've never even come close to having sex. But she's ready. It's been almost three years since a man had touched her like she longed to be touched. She missed it. She wanted it. Hell she needed it. "Yes, I'm sure. I think we've taken things slow enough. I'd like to take things to the next level, if you want to."
Bradley's on his feet before the sentence is out of her mouth. "Oh, I definitely want to." He scoops her up in his arms and starts down the long hallway. She laughs as he carries her into her bedroom. He sits her down right in front of her bed. She can't believe how nervous she suddenly feels.
No time is wasted between them.
Before they have a second to even have second thoughts they're on her bed. Both naked and ready for each other. Bradley hovers over her, ready at her warm entrance. He's staring into her eyes and she's anticipating him, the fullness she'll finally feel again. The fullness she's missed so much. Or is it the completeness she's missed. The feeling of being one with someone she loved with all her heart?
Amber closes her eyes and pulls Bradley down to her, kissing him deeply. The anticipation is too much for her. "Brad, please, do it now." She holds onto him tightly as he pushes into her. The feeling is amazing. She can't breathe or maybe she's just holding her breath. He's moving so slowly, so sensually inside of her. She wants to lose herself in him. Let him take over her body. Be one with him.
Unfortunately, that feeling never comes over her. She feels that fullness of him being in her, but she never feels complete. Never feels they're one.
That's not saying she doesn't feel good. Being with someone again, moving forward with Brad, who she knows cares for her a great deal, feels good. It actually feels amazing. Amber moves her hips up, meeting his next thrust. Hard. Surprised, Bradley looks down at her, she gives him a devious smile and a wicked little wink. Letting him know it's time to let loose, show each other what they really want. And boy do they!
