Sam starts to get defensive, but Andi tells her to shut up. This pisses Sam off more. She actually tries to go after Andi. But Andi's quick and moves out of her grasp. Andi goes after Sam next, but Joe's in her way.
Jordan hears the commotion and comes around the corner to see Joe doing his best to keep Andi and Sam apart. He rushes over to help, grabbing Andi around the waist and picking her up. "What the hell is going on here?"
"This tramp needs to be put in her place. And I'm just about to do it." Jordan's a little shocked to see Andi acting like this. He's never seen her behave this way. "Andi, stop this right now. You're acting like a child." Andi turns on Jordan. "Get your hands off me. I'll act any way I feel like. No one calls my best friend a bitch and gets away with it." Jordan let's go of Andi, kind of wanting her to kick this girl's ass now. Jordan looks past Joe at Sam, "Your name is Sam right? Well Sam, if you want to keep your job, you'll watch what you say about your bosses daughter. Is that clear?"
Sam nods and then looks at Joe. Tears well in her eyes. It makes Joe feel bad. This is his fault. He shouldn't have ever let himself go past friendship with Sam. He knew she had feelings for him but he did it anyway. Now she's hurt and it's because of him. "Sam. I'm sorry. I know you're upset, but don't take it out on Amber. It's me you should be angry with. And there's no need to fight with Andi. Or Jordan. I think we should all just go to our buses and take a breath. Okay?"
Jordan and Andi nod and walk away, still a bit of tension between them. Jordan tries to hold her hand but she pulls away from him. Jordan knows he's in for a long night.
Joe stands there looking at Sam, watching her cry doesn't feel good. He never meant to hurt her. She's been such a good friend, but now he just didn't know how to stay friends with her. "Sam go, get some rest. Maybe we can talk in a few days when things cool down. But right now I need to go. My wife and son are waiting for me. So I'm going to say goodnight. Goodnight Sam."
"Joe, wait. I'm sorry. Please don't go. You know she's no good for you. She hurt you. She's going to hurt you again. I'd never hurt you Joe. I'd never leave you like she did. I'd love you the way you deserve to be loved. Please don't do this, don't give her your heart to crush again. And for the love of God don't have any more kids with her. Joe think about things first. I'm saying this as your best friend. The best friend who was there last time she broke you and saw everything you went through." Sam takes Joe's hands. "Joe please listen to me. Please be sure she's what you really want. Because I don't think we can be friends if you're with her. And I won't wait around for her to hurt you again."
"Sam are you saying that we can't be friends anymore if I'm with my wife? I don't understand. But I'll respect your decision if that's what you want. Goodnight Sam."
Before Joe can walk away Sam grabs the front of his shirt and pulls him against her, hard. She kisses him, aggressively. Her tongue invading his mouth. And for just a second he responds, but only for a second. Joe pushes Sam away from him. "Sam, what the fuck? Seriously? You need to go. I'm serious Sam, GO!" Sam turns and quickly walks away. Leaving Joe standing there, angry and a little sad. But knowing that any friendship he had with Sam is over. Joe slowly walks over to his and Amber's bus. He takes just a moment to let it set in that he just lost his best friend.
When Joe walks onto the bus he finds Amber sleeping on the couch, little Joey sleeping on her chest. And nothing else matters. His life just makes sense with Amber back in it. He knows in his heart nothing could ever come between them again.
Joe could sit and watch them sleeping forever. It's the sweetest sight he's ever seen. But he needs to get Joey's stuff set up or he'll be sleeping in the bed with them. There's no way to expand their family with the kid in bed with them.
Joe had their bus made special for them. They have a bedroom in the back of the bus and there's another small room where the bunks should have been that will be Joey's room. Joe unpacks Joey's bedding and toys. He makes up the little bed and sits his three favorite stuffed animals on it. Joe finishes with Joey's room and heads into his and Amber's room. He makes up their bed and puts away their clothes and suitcases. He's almost done when he hears his name.
Joe hurries to the front of the bus, hoping to get there before whoever it is wakes the kid and Amber. He's not quick enough though. He finds Amber sitting up talking to Jordan when he gets to the living area.
Jordan's holding a still very sleepy Joey. "Hey kiddo." Joey's smiling at Jordan, rubbing his eyes. "Hi Pops."
"Joey your mommy tells me you like music. You want Pops to teach you how to play the piano? Oh hey Joe. I was coming by to make sure everything was okay and to tell you we'll be ready to leave in about twenty minutes."
Joe looks at Amber, then at Jordan. "Yeah we're good. We're ready to go. Andi calm down yet? Did you two make up?" Joe starts laughing. "So J, you and Andi? What's going on there?"
Amber cuts in, "What happened with Andi? Is she okay?" Joe really doesn't want to tell her about Sam. But he he knows he has to. "After you went to the bus, Andi and Sam had some words. It wasn't very nice and I don't want to talk about it in front of the kid. I'll tell you everything after he's down for the night babe."
"Andi's fine. We talked, so we're fine. And yes Joe I'm seeing Andi. It's not something I'm out telling the world about. But yeah we're together." Jordan stands up and hugs Joey tight before handing him to Joe. "Alright it's about time to go. I better get back. Love you guys." Jordan leans down and hugs Amber.
