Chapter 14

Louis made the incision around arrow. He then made a second incision down his calf in a straight line. Next he grabbed the arrow shaft and gently wiggled it out. He worked quickly and began slipping the string in and out of the cut. After he was done he disinfected all the tools and placed them away. "Have him drink this" he said, giving Gen the pain killer potion. Gen tipped it down his throat.

I could hear footsteps and saw Abby and Alexis coming down. "Over here!" I shouted. They came over and both gasped at the sight of the boy. "Oh my!" Said Alexis. "We may need your help" explained Louis. Gen was fastening a oxygen mask on the boys face. "Why are your eyes black Louis and Gen?" Abby asked. "We haven't figured it out" I answered. "I'll get on it" Alexis said and Abby followed her out of the room. "By the way," screamed Abby, "Coco, Danie and Absol left a while ago. I think they were going fishing." "Ok!" I yelled back.

Gen had the mask set up and Louis was sitting at the foot of the bed staring at the boy. "So who is this guy?" I asked. "I've been wondering the same thing" Gen said. I looked at the boy. His suit was ripped and dirty. I fished around in his pocket. "Hey look!" I said, I pulled out a small piece of paper. It read:
Staff member Lars Woodson.
"Well I found his name. It's Lars" "Lars" Gen repeated.

I walked outside and saw Alexis and Abby huddled around the laptop. "What have you found?" I said. The looked up at me and I peered over their shoulder. "We found that the black eye is associated with the wither. I saw the note he left." Alexis answered. "What about it?" I pushed on. "Well it says that the Wither turns everyone on the server have shorter tempers. When a member gets angry their eye turns black. This is the Wither taking over." I stood in shock. "So when Gen was struck he was being taken over by Wither, and when Louis got angry he got a black eye. And that why I hurt the boy, I was angry..." "Yes" Abby agreed. "So what server did you take this Staff member from?" "Mineplec" I responded.

I walked back over to boy. "He is doing ok" Gen said. He had become Louis' assistant. I was startled by a sudden scream. The boy had jolted up, his mouth wide open and let out an ear-piercing scream. "Gen!" I yelled over the racket. Gen fumbled around in his inventory and pulled out another slowness potion. "Hold...him...still" Gen yelled through gritted teeth. I placed my hands on his chest and pushed back as hard as a could. He wouldn't budge. "Gen! He's too strong" I pushed harder. Louis came around my side and held him back. "Gen!" He yelled, "I can't hold him back!" I released my hands and ran to the kitchen. I picked up a small frying pan. "Guys, I have a solution." Gen looked at me like I was crazy. I positioned my hands on the pan and snuck up behind. I quickly slammed the pan onto his head and he slumped over. "Ok then..." Louis let out a small laugh.

I began to walk upstairs when Alexis caught me from behind. "Nice job finding that" I said. I patted her on the back. "Thanks Bae" she patted me back. I walked over to my room. The sun was beginning to set and a realized that it had been a long day. I undid my braid and put on a pair of pjs. I slid under the covered and smiled. My watch blinked on at my bedside and I reached over to check it. It was Gen and Louis wishing me a good nights sleep. I snuggled down in the blankets and set my plush minecraft spider next to my head. Sleep over took me quickly. My dreams were filled with peaceful images of meadows. I dreamed of doing archery with Alexis and Absol and laughed as we landed bullseyes.

When I woke up the sun's warmth covered me and I felt like today was going to be a lot better day. I could just tell.
