I ran over. My head flooded with every possible thought. Ken stood behind the check in counter, his eyes glued on one spot. "What?" I said, my eyes scanning back and force. He pointed at the ground with his foot. A bomb detonator lay on the ground. I bent over and picked it up warily. "Careful!" He yelled at me, "drop it. Now!" Without hesitation I dropped the detonator. It clattered to the floor. "Arm yourself." yelled Lars. I knocked an arrow. Ken picked up the detonator slowly. He turned it over in his palm. "Hey! What happened to the boy manning the front desk?" I looked around the room. I gently released my arrow, allowing it to drop into hand. I covered the tip in sleeping potion. "Let's find him!" I yelled. I leaped over the desk and bolted. I caught sight of a swift black object ducking out the door. I dashed in that direction. My bow was at my side, but I was fully prepared to use it. I saw the shadow jump into the ocean. This was my chance. I knocked an arrow. My hands shaking like crazy, I aimed for the cloaked figure. I released the string and the arrow fly swiftly through the air. I knew I had hit my target when the black fabric began falling deeper into the ocean. I dropped my bow and arrow at the dock. I brought my arms by my ears and leaped off the dock, diving in. The water collapsed onto me. I dove deeper, watching the body sink. Kicking my legs and was able to grab the wet fabric. I yanked as hard as I could and pulled the soaked person up. My legs pounded through the water. I broke the surface and pulled in oxygen. My eyes burned of salt and my dress swayed in the water. I swam to the shore. Lars stood on the dock. He held out a hand and pulled me up. Next I turned around and grabbed the person. The arrow had landed in their thigh. "Who is it?!" He asked. The body was breathing slowly. I rolled the person into their front. Sure enough it was the boy from the front desk. "You practically drowned him." His voice distraught. "Yes, I know." I said, still pulling in air at a fast rate. "It's just a sleeping potion, no worries." Lars crouched down at the boys level. He examined him, looking for any thing wrong. Then he carefully grabbed the arrow that currently impaled his knee and pulled it out. The fabric tore a hole open and thread spread out in all directions. "It should wear off in 20 minutes." I said. Lars stood up. "Then let's leave him here for now." He answered.
The moonlight shone down on us. We stood there in silence as the ocean splattered endlessly against the shore. I walked into the lobby. Ken was inspecting the detonator meticulously. My drenched dress clung to my body as if it were made of spandex. "Ken?" I shouted from across the room. He looked up from his work. "Listen, Butter. I'm tired. Can I be done here?" I knew I should give him break, but I wanted this mystery solved. "Keep working." I practically barked. My eyes darted out of his view and I walked back outside. The boys pale face glistened in the sunlight. "What happened to this server? What happened to constant fun? Now all I do worry. I'm the guardian 24/7. I just wish this stupid Wither would go away." I then ran over to Lars and embraced him in a hug. He wrapped my arms around me. As I began to pull my arms away he pulled me in. Not for another hug, but a kiss. My lips connected with his for a second before they released. My mind was now in the most blissful place it had been in days. I gulped and looked up at him. His blue eyes piercing the night. "Lars..." I muttered. He pulled me in for a second hug. I could imagine sparks shooting off in all directions. "Listen, I've got to get back to work." He whispered to me. I smiled to myself and looked down at the boy. Thank goodness he didn't see that. Lars was now inside. I settled down on the edge of the dock. The water tickled my legs and the sound soothed me. My eyes began to droop, sleep overwhelming my body. Before I knew it my head lay on the side of the dock and all was black and quiet. Finally peace.
