The sunlight struck our faces. Adam still had his arm wrapped around me. His knees shook furiously. I brought him over to the check in desk and sat him down. Ken came by my side. Wires snakes out of his pockets like spider webs. Adam's face was red and his two eyes looked like glass. "Adam. We're gonna need your help defeating the Wither," I started. He only nodded, his black hair soaked in dirt. "Why don't you two wash up?" I suggested. A second later I heard Lars trudging up the stairs. "Lars!" I smiled. He looked back at my gruffly, clearly annoyed. "How about we all rest. Then we can go back to my house and sort everything out." Ken was happy to hear those words. He walked off to the hotel rooms upstairs. "Adam, why don't you stay in Lars and my room?" I asked. He agreed.

Lars, Adam and I headed up the stairs. Adam balanced on my shoulder, taking each step slowly. Lars was far ahead of us. When he got to the room he opened the door jerkily and then slammed it closed. The floor rattled and I held onto Adam a little tighter. "Adam, I need to talk to my uh boyfriend." The words felt like knives, cutting the air. Adam only nodded. His eyes still locked on the door. I walked in slowly. My eyes looking at the floor. "Lars?" I said, slightly above a whisper. He sat on the bed. His hair tousled in every direction. He merely glanced at me. "What Butter?" I sat down next to him, feeling the bed give under our weight. "Listen, Butter. I don't know how you trust that Adam guy. Or even that Ken guy." He stopped and took in a heavy breath. I gulped. "Ken is a friend. Adam just got messed up." He looked at me as if he were toying with the options. "Butter." His voiced sounded rough. "Listen Lars!" the scream erupted from me, "if you can't handle me being around other boys. Then..." I was caught short, my breath choking me for a second. "We're through." The words hit him like a bowling ball. His face contorted into anger. "Butter Fly Wolves!" His eyes flashed. I could hear someone bounding up the steps. Everything can in tune. The noises and sounds sharp and piercing. He then unsheathed his sword. It gleamed in the sunlight. My heart sunk. I whipped out my bow and knocked in arrow in fear. "Lars, don't get near me." My hands shook. He held the sword up. The diamond looked cruelly sharp. Both of his eyes glistened black. He raised the sword higher. My arms trembled but I pulled the string on the bow back. "Butter. We're through." He repeated my words. The sword was not at eye length. Suddenly the door crashed down. Ken was holding his shovel. He jabbed it forward. Lars looked confused for a moment, then he snapped into action. He swung wildly at Ken and connected with his shoe. Ken lurched forward and struck Lars in the head with his shovel. Lars' body crumpled to the ground. "Uh, thanks." I said. I looked around at the mess. The door was missing and my ex-boyfriend was unconscious. "Ban him quickly." Ken said, a wildness lingered on his face. I muttered some commands and the body disappeared into thin air. The most I could do was flop onto the bed. "Thanks for saving me." I said. We both lay on the bed, staring up the ceiling. I could hear the sound of limp footsteps coming closer. "Adam?" I called out. "Yeah, it's me. Some fight." Adam appeared at the door. His eyes looked more purple than black now. "A traitor." muttered Ken. Lars words replayed in my mind. I reached over and grasped my bow and arrows. The feeling felt comforting, like a sense of protection. Then I heard a sound that I knew all too well. The sound of Japanese music booming over head. Instead of asking it to be shut off I listened. The words confused my brain but also settled it. Before I knew it my eyes had closed. I drifted into a peaceful sleep, my legs dangling off the bed.
