Chapter 21

The potion began to bubble over. Alexis quickly placed her hand over the top and it simmered down. She then took it and walked it over to the tub. Gen stood behind me, watching with a mixture of fear and interest. Absol got the notice that the potion was done and went over to Lars' side. All the feelings of his first injury rushed back. It almost felt as if the thing that possessed the server wanted Lars out the most. I couldn't quite figure it out, but I could feel there was a connection. Absol reached over to Lars' jaw. She gripped it at the sides and forced it open. Alexis came in next to her and tipped the liquid down his throat. I watched as he gulped it down as if he were conscious. Absol released her grip on his jaw and closed it for him. "Absol, Alexis and Gen," I began to propose. They all looked at me, awaiting my speech. "Listen, I think there is a reason Lars keeps getting hurt. I think he is connected somehow." They were immediately taken aback at my answer. Absol swallowed hard and adressed me, "Butter, I think you're right..." Gen seemed more frightened. "How about I do some research?" exclaimed Alexis. I nodded in agreement. Absol placed her hand on Gen's head and ruffled his hair. He looked up at her and scowled, pushing her hand away. "C'mon Gen. Dinner is almost ready." I nudged him out the door. He seemed a lot quieter after my proposal.

We walked down the stairs in silence. My eyes held onto the ground and I walked swiftly. When we reached the bottom we both turned to the dining room. The sunset was turning the sky a pink orange color. I plopped down in my chair and let out a breath of relief even though that was not the emotion I felt. Danie kindly brought me some food. It was a pork chop with a baked potato. I smiled and dug in immediately. I hadn't eaten all day and my mouth was happy to eat something other than air. The food was gone almost a second after I first saw it. After noticing I was finished I gestured to Danie for a glass of water. She produced one quickly and I gulped it down. Gen stared at me in astonishment, for he had only eaten one bite. To top off my meal I had a cookie and a slice of cake. When I was finished I left the table briskly. Gen sat there at the table watching me leave. I went up stairs and practically burst into the bathroom. Absol was startled, but it seemed Alexis expected it. 

"How is he? How's the research? How is everything?" My tone sounded very angry. I attempted to pull myself together. The anger surged through me. "Butter!" screamed Absol. She reached and grabbed my hands, "Stop Butter! The Wither is posessing you." I swallowed as my body was being controlled by the evil mastermind. I pulled away from her grasp and began heading towards Lars. I resisted the pulling sensation, but it was overcoming me. I inched closer and closer until I was an arms length away. I could feel Alexis tugging at me, holding me back. My eyes were clouded with red. My body pushed forward and I began to seize Lar' shoulders. He lay in the bathtub, still and unmoving. My eyes were wide open and I felt all my muscles strained. The force pushed on and I leaned forward, shoving my body weight down on Lars. His shoulders sunk further and further in the water. As his nose was beginning to hit the water level I was given a boost of adreniline. I pushed the force as hard as I could. The force slowed, but didn't stop. His nose was now fully submerged. "BUTTER!" screamed Absol. She tackled me to the ground. I fell next to the bathtub. She quickly gave me a Miner's Fatigue potion and I could feel my bones turn into noodles. I lay on the ground. The sensation left my body. I was free for now.
