Chapter 15

I jumped out of my bed. My plush spider sat on my pillow. I quickly threw my hair up in a pony tail. It was getting long and was thinking of cutting it. I put on a clean sweater. It was light blue and a bit worn down. I also put on some skinny jeans and a pair of tan boots. I began to walk down the steps and everyone was milling around downstairs. Absol, Abby and Alexis were making little hats out of wool for the horses during the winter. Marvin and Gen were watching TV. I then saw Danie, Matt and Lizzy laughing at funny pictures on their watches. I was glad everyone was doing well and I was hoping to relax after the past two days.

"Good morning!" I exclaimed. Everyone looked up from their different activity and began wishing me a good day. "Butter?" Louis caught my attention. "Yes?" I replied. "The boy, Lars. Follow me" I wasn't expecting to confronted with this, this early in the morning, but I had to show respect as the Owner.

Louis led me over to the dining table where Lars lay. Around his eyes were red and his face was significantly paler. "Oh my!" I exclaimed. "Yeah, yeah I know. I woke up and he was like that. He hasn't woken up since yesterday" Louis explained. His eyes filled with worry. "Can we take him to the vet office at the HorseBarn?" I asked. I knew Absol would be working there and she was the only person on the server currently with a medical degree. "Yeah, good idea. She'll be going down their in a minute. We'll come down when she does" he nodded.

I walked back over to where everyone was staying. People were beginning to stop and go to their jobs. As Absol left I let Louis know it was time to get Lars. I took the horses from upstairs and led them to the room. Louis and I pulled Lars on Louis' horse and I hopped on mine. We trotted out of the house and headed to HorseBarn.

When we arrived Absol was very shocked at the sight of working on a human. "Please?" I begged her, "you're the only one who has a medical background." She agreed with a little persuasion and we signed some simple papers. "Let's take the boy into the operating stall" she guided. I had Louis pick up the boy and place him on the bed we had made. Absol instructed us to sit on the bench nearby. She began hooking up so many wires I lost count. I could hear the steady beep of the heart monitor which reassured me. I felt as if Louis and I were the parents of this boy, but then I realized it would awkward and forgot the idea. Absol began pumping a strange liquid through the IV. It was brown and opaque. I craned my head and read the label. It read: Hydration and Nutrients.
Louis and I sat there for around an hour waiting for the result. We could see Absol working furiously, as she tried to revive the boys health.
"Done!" She let out a loud huff. "Can you maybe explain what you did?" I asked. "Well," she started, "he was severely dehydrated. The conditions in the jail must've been very hot and dry. That's about all" I nodded at her sentence. "He will be ready for you to see him in about an hour. For now you can just ride around on the property."

I steered by horse down the path to the race track. Louis crept up behind me and reared his horse. I kicked mine and we sped up onto the track. I was in a steady gallop. I leaned forward and leaped over the jump. One second later I thudded to the ground and picked up speed for the next jump. I heard Louis' horse thump down on the ground. His horse neighed and he swiveled around so he was in front of me. I pulled back on the reins and my horse stopped.
It was time to finally learn about Lars
