*Wow! Chapter 20 already! Thanks everyone who has been reading! You guys are awesome!*
Lars lay on the ground. The red potion spilled out of his lips. Next to him was the shattered potion bottle. My brain snapped into panic mode. I stood there speechless as thoughts entered my brain. I instinctively pulled out my bow and arrow. I knocked an arrow and as circled the room. When I saw the coast was cleared I went over by his side. I couldn't believe this day. It felt like everyone had gotten hurt somehow. "Alexis! Absol!" I called out. My eyes drifted to his face. Around one of his eyes a bruise was forming. The red potion had made its way all over the floor. A few minutes later Absol and Alexis were by my side.
"What happened?" Absol asked. She picked up his right wrist and began taking his pulse. "I'm not sure entirely. I just walked in and found this." I pushed back a tear. Alexis was taking a cheek tissue sample to see if the potion was involved. I concentrated as she dropped chemicals into a little bottle and shook up the substances. Absol caught my attention when she pulled her hand away from his wrist. "He's breathing," she started slowly, "but very slow." My brain couldn't grasp the information. I went over to the edge of the bathtub and sat down. I put my head in my hands and stared at my shoes. The boots were beginning to wear. Alexis finished testing the cheek swab and reported immediately. "Seems as if someone set up the scene. The potion is not linked." I gasped and scowled to myself. "Who did this?" I yelled. Absol placed her hand on my knee. Calmness spread through me and I unclenched my hands. Absol carefully propped his head in her lap. The red potion spewed over his lips and dribbled on the floor. She wiped it gingerly with a piece of cloth. "We need to help him" I practically demanded. Together we picked up his limp body. I held tightly to his legs and we placed him in the tub. His head rested gently on the side and his body lay peacefully still across the rest. "Butter, let Alexis and I take care of him. You should go down and help there." I nodded in agreement and walked about the door.
I went down the stairs and saw Marvin finishing up the lockdown. I acknowledged him with a slight wave and headed into the dining room. Everyone was chattering about various subjects. I snapped my fingers and everyone turned towards me. "Settle down" I said, my voice smooth and authoritative. Staff members made their way to the seats. I sat down at the head of the table. To my left Gen, Abby, Danie and Matt sat. On my right was Lizzy, Louis, Marvin and Coco. I smiled at everyone and began my annoucement. "We have been attacked twice today." I gestured a hand to Louis who wore a crooked smile. "We have to be on guard more. No one is the leave this house without the permission of Coco or I." A few groans wavered in the air. I kept a stern face and looked around at everyone. Each face held a different expression of fear or surprise. "No one is safe. We must protect each other. Anyone of even the smallest medical background cannot venture out until safety is insured." My hands clenched under the table, "We cannot even risk the loss of a member." The dining room became eerily quiet. "Stay safe" I said and left the table. My eyes darted from eye contact and I walked out of the room. I felt sad seeing the faces of the those I cared about. I couldn't bear to imagine them hurt. It was hard enough when I had seen Louis, Lars and Gen suffer.
I headed up stairs to my room. I needed time to wind down from my annoucement. My mind was flooded with thoughts. I tried my hardest to push any negative ones out my head. I resisted suddenly spouts of anger and settled myself down in my bed. The sheets enveloped me and I felt as if I was going to cry. Suddenly I heard a knock at my door. "Come in!" I hollared. The door opened ajar and the small face of Gen peered at me. I got out of my cozy nook and opened it further. "Hello!" Gen yelled, bounding with energy. I smiled and let out a forced laugh. He drank a potion of swiftness and ran around in circles. The laugh pushed forward and I found tears of happiness spring to my eyes. "Gen, stop stop!" I said through a giant smile. He stood in front of me. He was about 1 foot smaller than me, but he had a lot more energy. His hazel eye and black eye stared up at me. I looked down at him. "So how are you doing?" He asked. "Im fine." I turned my head away for a brief moment. "Listen Gen, Lars got hurt and I don't know how. It's been messing with my mind a lot." His eyes turned concerned and his smile disappeared. "That boy from the other server?" He asked. I nodded, "I'm gonna go check on him." I said. "Ill join you" was his answer.
We made out way to the bathroom. I could hear the usual bubbling of chemicals as Alexis mixed them in viles. "How's it going?" I asked. My eyes landed on Lars' pale face. Gen pushed forward to see the scene. "Better" was Absol's answer, though she hadn't even looked up from her position. "Im working on a potion of revival." Alexis added. I walked over to Lars and Gen followed me. His hair had plastered to his face and his bruised eye had swollen. Gen reached over and touched his hair. "It's wet" He said, almost dumbfounded. "Yeah, we have been soaking him in the tub. It's an ancient revival method. They used it in InfDev." Absol said. Gen swirled the water with his finger then he flicked it at me. I spat out as it hit my face and grabbed a scoop with my hand. I splashed it at him and it soaked his shirt. "Guys! Honestly!" Alexis said, she pushed Gen's hand away, it had already been armed with some more water. I smiled and looked at Gen. Water dribbled down his shirt and plopped onto the ground. "How long will this revival take?" I asked. "I would give it another half hour" answered Alexis. She was back working on the potion. The colors mushed together forming a mint green color. "I need to know what happened."
