The girl made her way down to Loki's cell alone, hesitating slightly before opening the door.

Loki's eyes were already fixed on her.

"Um, hi."

"Mortal."

She made her way up the stairs slowly, keeping her eyes on the man at all times. Loki took in the girl's appearance, she wasn't anything special really. Short dyed hair, mismatched eyes, piercings.

Could she have been the one to send out the burst of energy? It certainly wasn't the Romanoff woman.

"What are you?" Loki asked, coming and standing near the glass, still examining the girl.

"I'm Harli-"

"Not who, what."

Harli blinked, "Human?"

"Liar." Loki hissed.

Harli rolled her eyes at him, "Attitude much?"

Loki stood at a loss for words. This punty human dared talk back to him?

He took a step back, looking the girl over more carefully. Her eyes flickered and he drew a sharp breath, "You're shading."

"...I'm what?"

"Are you really that stupid."

"Yeah probably." Loki stared, the girl seemed genuinely confused.

"How old are you?"

"Why?"

"I would like to know."

"Okay, but why."

"You're infuriating."

"I've been told that, yes."

Harli stared at the annoyed man, a smug smile on her lips. He glared down at her.

He's a hell of a lot taller than I expected. I know the Frost Giants were, well, giants. But he's got to be at least six foot five (198 cm), or six foot six (201 cm).

Loki's eyes swept over her, looking her up and down. He lunged at the glass, and Harli jumped back, golden light sparking around her.

"There she is."

Loki had stopped just short of the glass, his green eyes fixed on her. Her eyes had slitted, and changed color. The blue was now entirely silver and the brown shone gold. Her hair had shifted too, showing her undercut and ears. They were long and pointed, piercings lining them up and down.

"You-" She growled, Loki's eyes flicked to her lips, her canines had sharpened into points. He grinned.

"Now you are laid bare. What are you."

"Human." She hissed, pupils slitted like a cats, golden light still sparking around her hands.

He slammed his hand against the glass. "Stop pretending you're one of them!"

"Stop pretending you know me." She glared, and her features slowly returned to normal. "I really thought I could reason with you, gods I'm such a fool."

She turned to leave, but then paused, "He loves you, you know."

Loki's brow furrowed, "Who?"

"Thor."

Loki scoffed.

"You've hurt him, emotionally and physically. He still loves you even after that. He doesn't care if you were adopted. You're his brother."

Loki only glared, but said nothing. In his heart of hearts, he knew it was true, but he would never admit it.

"You-" the ship jolted and she fell, the sound of an explosion going off in the distance and gunfire rang through the halls.

She turned her eyes to Loki, "What have you done?" It was a lie- she knew full well what he did, but she's dramatic.

He grinned, and a roar echoed through the corridors of the ship, "The monster has been released."

She got up from where she had fallen and without looking back at him ran out of the room.

Loki glared after her, but watched as one of the wisps of gold slipped through the cracks of his cell and came to rest in his outstretched palm. This time it took the shape of a lion, letting out a silent roar before the light sunk into his fingers, a warm feeling spreading through his body.

"Quite the ferocious little rose." Loki chuckled to himself, a small smile curving his lips.

"Stark!" Harli yelled into her headphones as she raced though the ship, letting her feet carry her through the ship.

"New girl?"

"I'm gonna do something really stupid and if it works, great- if not then I really hope you catch me."

"What are you-" Steve's voice cut in.

"You'll see!" She ran down and onto the bridge, strapping her guns back on and putting the knives into small pockets on her pants instead of hanging them in her coat. She shrugged off her coat as she ran, throwing it at a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent as she passed them.

"Don't lose that please!" She raced down and burst through the door "Stark- I'm about to do that stupid thing."

"You wanna tell me what you're doing first?"

"...it's a surprise." She pelted across the top of the helicarrier, weaving around the quinjets strapped down.

Please work, please work, please work, please work-

"Alis volare!" She yelled and jumped.
