The slit pupiled girl sat up admiring her work as she traced the mark with cold fingers.

"Fair is fair." She grinned, bending down once more to place a kiss on his lips.

Then she was gone, leaving the god with bruises on his neck, laying on his back in the middle of an empty hallway.

She arrived back at the main room after covering the hickeys on her neck, and plastered a smile on her face.

The S.H.I.E.L.D agents had gone, and it was only the Avengers (plus Loki, but he was presumably still laying on the floor of a hallway somewhere on the fifth floor).

"Ah, Harli- I was wondering where you wandered off to." Steve smiled, and patted the seat next to him. "We're opening presents."

She sat down beside him, propping her legs up on his lap.

The hem of her dress rode up slightly, giving him a full view of the tattoo on her thigh.

"Alright- the presents have been distributed, and we'll go in a circle starting with Bruce." Tony instructed, sitting back down onto a couch opposite Steve and Harli.

Loki had returned a few minutes ago, the hickeys on his neck now covered with what she assumed was an illusion. He had been staring at her the entire time, and she had refused to look at him.

The scientist opened his gifts, revealing a set of beakers from Natasha and Clint, a new pair of glasses from Steve and several books.

"Thank you." He smiled softly, and Harli caught his eye, giving him a smile.

Tony was next, and when he got her gift, he grinned, "Yesss- I shall be putting you to work!" She groaned.

"I shoulda' put a time limit on that."

They continued on, Clint and Natasha both thanking her for her gifts.

It was Thor's turn next, and after he tore open her gift he grinned. "I like them, Lady Harli!" She helped him clip the necklace around his neck, and then fasten the bracelet on his wrist.

It was Pepper's turn after, and she smiled at Harli after opening the notebook, finding the pages covered with pressed flowers, leaves and petals.

Then it was Steve's turn. He opened each gift slowly, giving him time to look through each. He saved her gift for last.

When he unfolded the gold paper, his face split into a grin. Along with the blanket, art stuff and canvases, she had gotten him a photo album.

She had taken photo copies of the pictures he had on his bedside table, as well as several she had found in the museum. Magazine clippings from the forties about the Howling Commandos littered the pages, and nearing the end were pictures of the team.

They were taken from magazines and then the various security cameras that Tony had around the Tower, she had to ask JARVIS for those. There were ones she had taken herself as well, each holding a little title underneath with the date.

In the last five pages were just pictures of the two of them.

A paint splattered Steve as he was caught mid-laugh, that day he and Harli had decided to take to the roof and paint a giant canvas she had spread out on the ground. There wasn't a particular theme, just sketches from each of them with colors meeting and dancing in the background. It now hung in the hall.

She had been the first to flick her paintbrush at him, a glob of blue paint landing on his cheek. He had turned to look at her incredulously.

"Sorry! Let me just get that..." She reached forward and smeared a streak of red paint across his brow. "Simbaaaaa."
