Steve and Clint had left around three hours ago after watching the two women fight, saying something about being tired.

"Thanks for the pointers Romanoff- I appricate it." She grinned.

"Call me Nat."

Harli flopped onto the couch, groaning. It had been two weeks since Fury had called Steve back to work, insisting he brought Harli along for a 'sanity evaluation'.

It seemed she had passed, but then again it was Nick Fury, and nobody ever knew what he was planning.

Steve stuck his head out of the kitchen, the smell of chicken baking in the oven reaching her nose, "You hungry?"

"Starving." She groaned, her face still planted in the couch. "Could you toss me a Monster?"

Steve's nose wrinkled in distaste, but opened the fridge, "What color?"

"Red please." She had slowly been moving her favorite drinks into the main fridge, though she had a good stash in the mini-fridge in her room.

He tossed it to her, and she flicked her hand. It stopped in midair, surrounded by little golden sparks.

Harli directed it into her hand, using magic to pop the tab. She sat up, taking a long sip.

"Alright, while we wait for the food, what are we doing today?" Steve came and sat down on the couch next to her.

Every day Harli had been slowly introducing him to new things about the modern age. Stark had helped some, but only in return for their help rebuilding his tower.

The girl grinned, "We're introducing you to new music."

He laughed nervously, "How terrible is this going to be?"

"It'll definitely be.... different than the music in the forties."

Harli had spent the last few weeks compiling a playlist for him. It was a bit difficult, because some of the songs she wanted didn't exist yet. She was, however, thankful that many artists she had in her world also existed here.

She gave him her earbuds, and after he had put them in, she clicked play.

As they listened through, his facial expressions were amusing.

When they finished the playlist, he was quiet for a moment.

"So... how many of those songs were about sex?"

Harli burst out laughing, "Quite a few, Whistle by Flo Rida is definitely one. I think Rumor Has It by Adele as well."

"Ah um, can we add a few ones to the playlist you made for me on my phone?"

"Sure." They took a few minutes going over the songs, choosing which one he liked and then adding them to the queue.

The timer went off, and they paused what they were doing, going to go eat.

As they sat across from each other on the counter, eating in comfortable silence, Harli thought hard.

His birthday is July fourth, and it's June twenty-ninth right now... that means his birthday is in five days.

She placed another piece of chicken in her mouth, looking up at the blonde man. He chewed absentmindedly, staring off into space.

"So..." She started, trying to figure out how to phrase this. "If you could have one thing in the world- without a price limit or anything, what would it be?"
