He looked around wildly, spying a car and ledge on a building. It was a small, small chance it would work, but he had to try.
Taking a couple steps back, he squared his shoulders and ran at the car, jumping and then bouncing off the trunk, angling himself toward the ledge.
Steve gripped the stone ledge, judging her distance to the ground, and when she was just above the ledge where he hung, he pushed out from the wall, twisting around with his arms outstretched to catch the girl.

June 6There was a terrifying few seconds where Steve thought he wouldn't catch her, that he judged the height wrong, but then a warm body fell into his arms.
He flipped around again so he was under her, and secured his arms around her, keeping her wings tucked in close to her body.
He was lucky he had chosen that place to fall, because they crash-landed on some bushes. Steve laid there for a moment, the breath knocked out of him. Her head rested on his chest, and it was only then did he feel the warm sticky liquid staining his outfit.

Loki's vehicle hovered overhead, staring at the man who had saved the girl.
Jealousy shot through his chest, watching as the mortal cradled the little rose's head on his chest, stunned.
Loki frowned, thinking about just shooting the man where he lay, but he was too close to his little rose.
The asgardian huffed, vowing mentally that he would kill the man before the day was out.
Loki said something to the alien controlling the ship and it wheeled around, shooting back towards the heart of the city.

Steve rolled Harli off him, placing her on her back. The wound wasn't a pretty thing. It was oozing blood, and it wasn't like a bullet, like something that could be pulled out. The blast she had been shot with was something from space, a foreign thing to the old super soldier.
It looked like it had cauterized on impact, stopping much of the bleeding, but blood still streamed from various places around the wound.
The man looked around, he couldn't let part of his team die, soldier or not. He looked around wildly for a cloth or something to stall the bleeding, but there was nothing. The street they crashed in was deserted, cars flipped over, one burning, storefronts destroyed.
Steve looked hopelessly back at her, biting his lip.
He looked down, waiting for her to take her last breath, then.... golden light started to form around her. He watched in awe as it formed a forcefield around her, and she started to float above the ground.
A part of the golden light settled into the wound, and as he stared, it healed over completely. Even the part of the tattoo on her side that had been blown off grew back.
The cut on her cheek healed, and Steve watched as the skin closed by itself, only a little unnerved. She was entirely healed, but the forcefield didn't go away. He tried to touch it, but the closer he got to it, the warmer his hand got until he was unable to get any closer for fear of burning himself.
