Harli unclipped a knife from her belt, it was curved, and the metal was entirely black.

"You really think you could beat me?" He mocked.

"I can damn well try."

She spun the knife in her hand, advancing menacingly.

He looked down at her, spear in hand.

Well, let's see if those fighting skills I scripted are gonna work- if not... I'm very screwed.

Harli lunged at the god, ducking under the spear he swung and going for his shoulder.

A dagger materialized out of thin air in Loki's hand, and he swept it downward. Harli skittered back, just avoiding the blade.

It was Loki to lunge forward this time, sweeping at her midsection with the spear, dagger in his other hand.

Harli rolled out of the way, kicked him in the stomach and jumped onto him, wings spread out behind her.

She straddled his hips, hands pinning his wrists down.

"Drop it!" She hissed, slamming his wrist against the ground. The hand with the spear loosened slightly, his long fingers curling outward.

He looked up at the girl, examining her face. He could easily overpower her, and he knew that, but watching her struggle to get the scepter amused him.

Some of the pieces of hair in her bun had fallen out and framed her face, giving her a slightly ruffled look. The large black wings that stretched out behind her were indeed quite beautiful, the light reflected off of them, and everytime she moved, greens, blues and purples would dance across them.

Harli squeezed his wrist tighter, finally looking into his eyes. She froze. He was looking at her, actually looking. His green eyes were quite pretty, she noticed. And damn, did he look good in leather.

"Rule number one in battle, little one. Never get distracted." He grinned, sitting up and flinging her off him. She flew back, landing on the marble steps.

A groan left her lips, and she had lost the ability to get up. She was stunned and she struggled to breathe.

He advanced on her, spear in hand. The stone was glowing, getting ready to put her completely under Loki's control.

The mind stone is in that, the one used to make Vision, and while I dearly love our robot friend, he's not worth being skewered for.

"It was a good try, little rose." His lips curled in a cruel smile as she struggled to get up, "Do you really still think you can beat me?"

She suddenly grinned, "Maybe I can't," she jerked her head toward the window, "but he can."

Tony hovered in front of the window, and Loki whipped around. "And there's one other person you pissed off, his name is Phil."

"You-"

Tony lifted his arm and blasted Loki back, stunning him for a moment.

Harli took a deep breath and hoisted herself back onto her feet. "Thanks Stark."

"Call me Tony."

A loud noise startled the two, and Tony looked up.

"Please tell me that's not what I think it is." Harli groaned, holding her ribs.

"Depends, do you think it's a giant laser beam opening a portal to let millions of aliens through?"

Harli gave him a look, and he shrugged, flying off to go deal with them.

"This sucks." She groaned, ran at the window and jumped, her wings beating against the wind as she soared up towards the portal.

Already hundreds of the aliens were streaming through on their hover ships, Tony was dealing with most of them, but there were a few that flew off beyond his reach.

Harli's hands surrounded themselves with glowing golden light and she blasted a few of them, and used telekinesis to surround three of them and crush them.

"Thats violent-"

"Says the former weapons dealer."

"Low blow birdy, low. blow."

She snorted, and swept her eyes around, the few she had missed were terrorizing civilians.

"Oh for fucks sake." She groaned, and dived to help.

Once she got to city level, she swung her hands wide, collecting four that were going for a restaurant, and with a great effort of will, she crushed them together into a ball.

Black blood shot out of the ball of alien parts, splattering against the windows.

Ew. That's like, really gross.

She dropped it onto the road, shaking her head.

"Y'all good?" She called the people inside the restaurant. The people nodded shakily, terror painted on their faces.

She gave them a thumbs up, and flew off, blasting aliens that were trying to attack people.

A bus veered off the side of the road, headed for a store front. She dove, wings folded and arms outstretched. Golden chains circled around the bus, and Harli yanked her hands back, almost like she was pulling on the reins of a stubborn horse.

The bus screeched to a halt just before hitting the front windows. The girl panted in the air, her vision dotted with white spots. She shook it off and landed next to the bus doors, prying them open.

"Everyone alright?" She called out to the terrified passengers.

"Y-yeah." The driver, a large man, squeaked.

"Good, anyone else need help? Medical assistance?"

They shook their heads, "Alright, good. Take cover in the buildings, stay on the ground floor and away from windows. Basically like a lockdown drill."

Harli turned to fly away, but a young boy piped up, "What's your name?"

She turned to look at him and smiled warmly, "You can call me Icarus."
