I mean I wouldn't mind being strangled by a guy with a metal arm- because yes please but that's not the point here.

"They'll fade, don't worry about it alright?"

She groaned, but said nothing else.

Summer had come and gone like a breeze, and sooner than Harli knew it, it was October and all the leaves were changing colors and beginning to fall.

She had gone on her twenty-second mission a week ago, and Fury seemed to be pleased with how things were turning out.

Now she was standing in the living room of their apartment and begging Steve to go dress up with her for Halloween.

"Oh come on please? You'll get to see all the cute kids in Captain America costumes!" She grinned.

"Not a chance! We're adults- why would we dress up?"

"Because it's fun. C'mon Steve- even Tony and Nat are dressing up for this."

They had a staring contest for a solid minute, then Steve gave in, "Whatever, fine."

Harli whooped and pumped her fist in the air, "I know just what you can be!"

"...the Mad Hatter?" Steve said, staring at the costume.

"Yep! It'll be fun- and I'm going as Alice anyway so we can match!"

He groaned, but took the costume.

"Go try it on." She pushed him towards the dressing room.

He closed the door, and a moment later, "Nope! Not a chance!" He yelled through the door.

"At least come out so I can see." She chided, bouncing on the balls of her feet.

"No."

"You come out or I'm coming in."

Silence greeted her answer.

"One..."

Nothing.

"Two..."

Not a sound.

"Thre-"

"Alright! Alright. Fine." The door opened, and Steve stood there, looking anywhere but Harli.

The hat sat crooked on his head, covered in patches. A scarf was tied around his neck, and a long red coat reached down to his thighs, paired with a white button-up shirt and black vest.

The pants were patched and ripped as well, and ended mid shin to show his mismatched socks and high heel boots.

To finish off the look, a sash with buttons and spools of string covering it was draped across his torso.

"Hm..." Harli glanced to the side, seeing a masquerade mask with orange and purple swirls. She grabbed it, then reached up and set it on his face, securing the string under the hat. "Perfect."

He rolled his eyes, "I look ridiculous."

"Maybe, but it's charming in its own way, don't worry."

Never have I ever thought that I'd be dressing up for Halloween with Captain America himself, she laughed to herself, what a strange reality I live in.

Steve straightened out his helmet again, sighing. S.H.I.E.L.D. had given him a new costume at his request, one with looser cargo pants. He almost matched Harli's outfit.
