But it was only when the woman stopped twitching that Harli turned away and punched in the rest of the code.

"Alpha lock." She said into her mic.

"Got it, thanks Harli."

She met back up with Steve on the top of the helicarrier, calling for Sam to give him a ride.

He didn't comment on the blood on her boots or hands, so she didn't worry too much.

The three soared up to the last helicarrier, landing on the deck.

"Y'know you're a lot heavier than you look." Sam said, flexing his presumably sore hands.

"I had a big breakfast." Was Steve's only response.

He didn't eat breakfast today-? Harli puzzled, glancing at the super soldier.

Just then the Winter Soldier appeared out of nowhere, body checking Steve off the deck and tripping Harli when she tried to swing at him.

Her face met metal and she groaned at the crunching sound that she assumed was her nose.

Blood gushed down her face, and she had to take a deep breath before snapping it back into place, her eyes watered, but the pain dissipated soon after.

She looked up just in time to see Sam get launched off the side of the helicarrier, and she scrambled back behind a shipping container, keeping her head low and her wings tucked close to her body.

"Sam- you need help?" She whispered into her mic, peering around the container to look for the soldier.

A thudding noise and then a crackley, "No I'm good, you stay up there and help Cap- my suits down so you're all he's got."

"Copy." She muttered, getting up and starting to walk across the deck to the door to get into the mainframe.

She wasn't attacked, so she assumed he was already inside.

"Steve, you good?"

"Just peachy. You still with me?"

"Til' the end of the line." She joked, but then froze.

Oh shit.

It was silent on the other end, and she was praying to any god that was listening that he didn't hear her.

"How-?"

"Not important." She rushed to say, sneaking between crates of weapons to get to the control room.

She and Steve arrived at the same time, but she was on the other side of the main control panel where they were supposed to put the new chip in, so she got to watch the scene go down.

Steve approached the soldier, standing about twelve feet away from him, pain on his face.

The soldier had his back to her, so she couldn't see his expression, but she remembered from the movie he just looked grim.
