Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess born to a wonderful family. Her name was (Y/n) (L/n), and she was the only daughter to the king and queen, Malachi and Melody.
The day she was born, a big celebration was thrown, for this young princess would marry the prince, Kestin, of the Howard family to unify both kingdoms.
However, the evil witch, Kalandra, was upset by this celebration, as she was not invited, so she placed a curse on the young nobility as she crashed the celebration, taunting the king and queen.
"Mark my words, once this spoiled brat turns sixteen, she will prick her finger on a spindle needle and fall into an eternal slumber!"
Well, young (Y/n)'s parents were protected by three fairies, Grenda, Brenda, and Sue, who made it so the princess would only awaken from her eternal slumber from true love's kiss.
Now, young Kestin was around 6 at this time, he wasn't informed of the situation as he had lessons to assist him for when he became king.
The king and queen of castle (L/n) sent (Y/n) to stay in the care of the fairies while they prepared for future endeavors.
Years passed and (Y/n) grew up to be a beautiful woman, with (H/l) (H/c) hair like her mother and (E/c) eyes like her father. She was stunning.
Of course, in a week it would be her 16th birthday, but the fairies were prepared to keep (Y/n) safe until she met Kestin.
Grenda and Brenda were baking a cake for (Y/n) to celebrate her birthday early, Sue was sewing a beautiful (F/c), floor length dress for her. (Y/n), however was out picking flowers and singing to herself. Planning on making a lovely centerpiece for the fairies.
Startled, (Y/n) slowly backed away from the stranger. Kestin, however extended his hand out to her, as though he wanted to take her hand and dance with her some more.
"My dear, do you not know who I am?" he asked her.
"I'm sorry but no, I'm afraid I do not." (Y/n) answered, glancing behind her to the fairies' cottage.
"I am prince Kestin of the Howard kingdom, my lady. I am set to marry princess (Y/n) of the (L/n) kingdom."
"(Y/n)? Why, that's my name!"
Kestin smiled to the young maiden, "If it is, then we are destined to be married!"
Suddenly, (Y/n) felt her heart flutter, as though she had met her soulmate.
"May I dance with you until the sun sets?" Kestin asked the princess.
"Oh, I would love to," the maiden hesitated, "but my guardians would be worried. They've been taking care of me since I was a baby."
"The fairies?" Kestin asked, "I heard your parents were protected by their kind."
(Y/n) nodded, "Yes, I never knew my parents, but I've heard great things about them."
Kestin gently took (Y/n)'s hand and sat down on a fallen tree, "What have you heard?"
Hours had passed of the two talking about their pasts, what (Y/n) had to say about her parents and living with the fairies, and what Kestin had to say about the life of a nobility, his studies and princely duties.
"I will promise you this," Kestin said as he interlocked his fingers with (Y/n)'s, "when we become king and queen, you will also have a role in the decisions of the castle, our armies, our diplomacies, everything. I want my best decisions to be made with your input more than any advisor."
