Adopted {Dad!CDawgVA x reader}

You were abandoned by your parents, they left you at this orphanage. It wasn't that bad, the lady running the orphanage was really nice to everyone.

Then came the bad kids. The nice lady would go from mother to punisher in under 10 seconds when the bad kids acted up.

You were friends with a couple bad kids, even hung out with them. The nice lady didn't like it when you hung out with them. She scolded you when you did. You didn't like to be yelled at, so you only hung out with them when the lady was sick.

One day, they tried to convince you to break into her office and steal adoption papers so they could get out.

You didn't want to, you knew it was a bad thing. You didn't know that the lady overheard the three of you.

"But, I don't want to. I don't want to get in trouble."

"God, you're such a goodie two shoes. Just ask her if you can get your dumb stuffed animal out of her office so you can snatch the papers."

"Well, if you weren't a bad kid then maybe you'd get treats and prizes like the rest of us."

"Oh real smart coming from the dumb girl."

"I'm not dumb!"

"Yea you are!"

"She isn't!" said the lady as she walked into the room.

"M-Mrs. Morgan!" they both stuttered.

"Boys, since you clearly can't learn your lesson, you will be transferred to a different orphanage. hopefully they can take care of you."

They seemed relieved that they weren't going to stay in the orphanage any longer, but the lady still had to deal with you. You were scared.

"(Y/N), I heard everything. It's good you didn't do what they asked, but why do you hang out with them?"

"I want to make them better people, but they step on me like a doormat."

She knelt down to you eye level, "Well, there's someone here who'd love to adopt you."

"Really?!"

"Yes, his name is Connor."

You were excited, you were waiting for so long to be adopted! You smiled widely as Mrs. Morgan told you to pack your things.

You ran into your room and packed up all of your clothes and personal belongings, you grabbed your stuffed (favorite animal/mythical creature) and hugged it to your chest as you walked out of the room and to the adoption desk.

A man who looked to be in his twenties was standing there, alone. He had brown hair and blue eyes. He wore a blue polo and jeans, he saw you and smiled.

"(Y/N), this is your new dad."

"H-Hi."

"Hello, how are you?"

"I-I'm good, th-thank you."

"Good."

You already liked him, he had the kind look in his eye that said that he was going to be with you forever.

He finished signing some papers and held his hand out to you, "Ready to go, kiddo?"

"Yeah." you said as you turned back to Mrs. Morgan.

You ran to her and gave her a big hug, "I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too, if you can visit me."

"We'll try."

You ran back over to your new dad and grabbed his hand, "Now I'm ready!"

He smiled and lead you to his car. he opened the trunk and put your luggage inside. He closed the trunk and opened the back door, motioning for you to get in. You climbed into the back and fastened your seat belt.

"You ready to go to your new home?"

"I'm ready!"

He chuckled, "Good."

And away you drove to your home, you were so happy. You were going to live your life happily with Connor. You knew he was going to be a good dad.
