"Y/n, can you go look for your Rai, breakfast is nearly finished and make sure the wisteria is still burning!" Your grandma yelled out from the kitchen "Oh, okay!" You replied, placing your doll down. 

 You ran off the engawa and ran into the forest, heading towards the small wooden fort you and Rai made when you were younger and once it came into view you sprinted over to the small beaten-up fort.

 "Rai! Breakfast is ready, it's time to come home" You yelled out, peaking inside the fort "She's not here..." You mumbled, looking around you, the snap of a branch was heard from behind you but when you turned around nothing was there. 

"Rai, this isn't funny come out" You spoke out, clenching your fists, you got no reply which scared you even more. "R... Rai, I'm going back now, this isn't funny, grandma is waiting for us" You mumbled as you began to walk away from the wooden fort and back to your home. 

"You know, you're such a coward," Rai said, walking out from behind a tree as she threw a twig at the back of your head "Come here, I need your help" Rai yelled out, gesturing you to come to her as she sat down on the ground.

 You did as your sister requested "What are you doing with grandma's ink?" You asked as you watched her dip the quilt into the small container that contained the inc. "I'm gonna draw the flower mark on me, what else do you think I'm doing" Rai scoffed as she drew a flower on her leg. 

"Why? Would not grandma notice" You asked, squatting down next to her "Huh, how is she going to tell the difference, she's a crazy old hag and besides just if the mark resembles a flower-like shape. And we do not need someone as pathetic as yourself becoming the next keeper, so think of it as me doing you and the flower a favour" Rai said, adding the finishing touches to the 'mark'.

 "I'm not pathetic! You're pathetic for drawing the mark on your body!" You yelled, "Shut the hell up!" Rai yelled, shoving you to the ground as she picked you up from the collar of your kimono "You're hurting me" You whimpered out, trying to pry her hands off your clothing. "If you tell grandma about this, I'll kill you" Rai scoffed as she dropped you onto the ground "Coward" She scoffed, walking away.

"Oh my, dear what happened!?" Your grandma yelled worriedly as she rushed over to you, nearly tripping on her own two feet. You stood in the doorway of the room, you could feel the glare coming from your older sister "I tripped" You mumbled, watching your sister's stern face turn into a satisfied grin.

 "Come sit down, eat your food and I'll get the bath water ready for you," Your grandma said, gesturing you to sit down "Thank you, grandma," you said with a smile as you watched her leave the room. "Still being pampered like the baby you are" Rai scoffed as she ate her food "Did you tell grandma that you gained the mark," You said, eating your food "No, I'll tell her later" Rai replied. 

"The bath is ready, I want you to go clean yourself up when your finished eating, kay?" Your grandma said, walking into the room and taking her seat as she began to eat. "Grandma, can you tell us about the blue spider lily, how it works, the abilities you gain, can you tell us everything you know?" You asked. 

"Huh, yes alright dear. The blue spider lily has been around since the beginning of time, the lily holds great power, such as healing people or bringing them joy. Your senses and strength will enhance greatly, we protect the flower, and the flower gives us those abilities but the abilities we receive are too powerful for our bodies causing the keeper to die before they reach the age of thirty" Your grandma spoke out.

 "How come the keeper dies at such a young age?" You asked "Well it hasn't always been like that, about ten centuries ago, there was a doctor he was the flowers keeper at that time. He had an ill patient the patient was supposed to die by the age of twenty. The doctor used the lily to heal this man but was not able to finish the medicine because he was killed by his patient. Because the medicine was not finished the patient DNA had been altered causing him to turn into a demon, a man-eating demon" Your grandma said with a frown.

 "In other words, the keepers are now being cursed with the misusage of the flower, that is why we hide away now, not using the flower to heal those in need. We fear we may create another monster" Your grandma sighed. "Ah, you already know all of this, so I suppose I'll shush up now," Your grandma said "No, please continue, refresh my memory. I forgot how the transfer works" You exclaimed.

 "Well if you insist when the mark appears on the chosen one's body, a special tea will be made from the lily. When he or she drinks the tea the flower transfers into their body and when they die the lily will sprout from their grave. If you look at your mother grave a blue spider lily has been growing there for some time now" Your grandma said. 

"That's disgusting" Rai scoffed." I have one more question now, can the flower be transferred into someone without the mark?" You asked, your sister only glared at you as she ate her food.

 "I've never heard of a situation, where someone without the mark received the flower. So, I am not exactly sure, I can't give you an answer to that question, sorry kiddo" Your grandma replied.

 "I'm finished eating, thank you for the meal, grandma," You said, standing up "You can leave your dishes, I'll wash them," Your grandma said with a smile "Are you sure?" You asked, "I insist, no go wash yourself up" Your grandma replied, ushering you out of the room. You walked down the hall of your large home, the house you lived in was a large one. 

You had an incredible kitchen and multiple rooms, an engawa wrapped around your home and your home always smelt of wisteria because your grandma burned wisteria all over the house and the forest outside. 

You arrived at the washroom doors, sliding them open and shutting them when you walked into the room. 

You walked over to the tub in the corner of the room, checking if the water was hot or cold, you heard the noise of the door sliding open and closed, by the time you turned around you were already pinned to the wall. 

"You think your so smart, don't you?" Rai said, pushing you against the wall "If she finds out, I will kill the both of you" Rai said "I don't think I'm smart, I'm just worried about you. What if the flower rejects you or... or you turn into a demon, what's going to happen to you then?!" You yelled, pushing your sister off you. 

"Tch, like you care. Hurry up and take your bath I want you in the room when grandma praises me for receiving the mark" Rai said with a grin as she left the room "Asshole" You mumbled.
