'Where am I... My head hurts' You thought as your eyes slowly fluttered opened "I'm still home, what happened?" You mumbled, looking at your surroundings.

You laid in a futon out on the engawa, the moon was out, crickets were heard in the distance, the smell of wisteria was faint, and the calls of animals could be heard within the trees.

"Y/n! You're awake!" Your grandma yelled as she walked into the room, she had dropped a tray containing a bowl of udon on it, due to her excitement. "Grandma your face what happened, it's all bruised?!" You exclaimed, stumbling out of the futon and heading straight to her aid.

"Nothing dear," Your grandma said with a forced smile as she wiped the spilt udon "Rai she did that, right? I remember she punched you, where is she!?" You asked, taking the cloth from her hands and wiping the mess.

"She took off yesterday evening after the ceremony, she still hasn't returned. I wanted to go look for her, but I was barely able to make my way to the trees, but I'm going to go soon its night and the demons are out" Your grandma mumbled with a frown.

"No, I'll go. You just stay here and rest and there's always demon hunters in the area, under the orders of Oyakata-sama our family is their top priority. I'm sure she's fine, I'll head out and bring her home" you said, looking at your grandma with a worried expression.

"You mustn't go you have the mark, and we must finish the transfer, it's dangerous to leave it sitting. Please drink the tea, I had left it beside your futon" Your grandma said with a frown.

You turned your head back to your futon and there it was the cup containing the blue spider lily, the cup sat at the side of your futon "Okay" You muttered as you got back up, walked over to the futon and chugged the tea down.

"Blegh, it's cold" You groaned, sticking your tongue out "I should have heated it, my apologies" Your grandma mumbled. "No, no it was fine, no need to apologize," you said with a smile.

"I don't feel any different" You mumbled, examining your arms "It's not supposed to take effect immediately" Your grandma breathed out.

"Oh, ok" You mumbled, breathing in through your nose and it hit you, the beautiful flowery scent of wisteria was gone "Grandma, did you put out the wisteria candles?" You asked, eyeing your grandma "No... Why?".

"Tch, of course, she didn't she could barely walk across the room on her own or without falling over" A voice spoke out from the shadows of the forest 'That voice... It's Rai' You thought "Rai I'm glad you... are back" Your words become raspy as you watched her figure walk out of the forest.

Rai had tattoos along her body, that looked like electricity or lighting strikes, her long dirty blond hair was cut, it was now shoulder-length, her cold brown eyes looked even colder and instead of the usually frown she wore it was replaced with a wide grin and in that grin, there were two fangs.

"You're a... a demon, why?" You breathed out "Why you ask? Who would not want to be a demon, demons are basically the perfect creature except for their curse to never set foot in the sun? Demons are marvellous demon don't have to pay for food, they don't have to worry bout dying or losing a limb and they live forever" Rai snarled with a wide grin.

"I have to take you to that man now, he gave me internal life and would allow m to grow stronger if I brought the current keeper to him" Rai snarled.

"You dare to bring your sister to such an evil man, why!? You two were supposed to have each other back" Your grandma cried out "Shut up hag, I'll deal with you later" Rai snarled as she began to walk forward.

"Y/n... Y/n run!" Your grandma yelled "No, I can't" You yelled out "I said run! If she gets you, it will be hell for all of mankind as the keeper it is your duty to do selfish deeds to protect the flower!" Your grandma screamed.

"Now run away or you would have failed your mother, father and our ancestors" Your grandma yelled.

"Hahaha, mom stop it" You giggled flaring your arms "Are you going to clean up your mess then?" Your mother asked as she tickled your belly "O... okay, I will" You laughed out. "There are my two favourite people in the world," Your dad said as he walked into the room with Rai cling onto his side "Hey my love," Your mother said with a smile as your dad brushed his lips against hers "Ew" You and Rai chanted, causing your parents to laugh.

"I understand, grandma" You whispered as the tears poured out of your eyes, you ran into the tree, you ran in the opposite direction of Rai.

You continued to run and when you looked back you saw Rai's hand ringed around your grandma's neck, she slammed your grandma onto the ground and proceeded to punch and rip her body apart.

Your grandma wasn't crying in fact she was mouthing the words "Don't come back" muffled sobs left your mouth as you continued to run.

'I've been running for hours now, my feet, legs and arms are all cut up. Grandma is gone and Rai is a demon' You thought as raspy breaths left your mouth. You tripped on a small rock falling into a small pond.

When you looked up you saw your grandma kneeling in front of you with a weak smile "I am glad your okay, thank you for protecting the flower and running. I love you" Your grandma sobbed and once you blinked your grandma wasn't there.

A large man was kneeling in front of you, this man had spikey black hair, an incredibly large and muscular figure, a scar running along his forehead, pale white eyes and this man was crying.

"You are the current keeper, right? I'm truly sorry for your loss, your grandmother is no longer in this cursed sinful world, she is in a better place I am positive, please stand up let me take you to the master" the large man cried. grabbing your hand and attempting to drag you along with him.

You were hesitant and pulled your arm back "You have no reason to fear me young one, I am Gyomei Himejima, the stone pillar of the demon slayer corps and I am here to protect you" Himejima cried.

Himejima tugged on your arm once again and you followed, well your body did you still sat there in the pond.

"Hey, wait I'm still here!" You yelled, only for nothing to come out. A pair of hands grabbed you pulling you down into the swamp "Come to that man, dedicate yourself to him" the hands chanted as they pulled you into the water and suddenly you were falling from the sky thousands of meters in the air.

"What's happening, Stop it! I just wanna go home, I just want to go home to grandma, mom, dad and Rai!" You cried out, shutting your eyes.

"You can't come home, yet. You have a duty, and you must fulfil your duty as the keeper" The voice of your mother was heard, you opened your eyes, you were in a dark room and in front of you sat your parents.

"You can't come home to us yet kiddo," Your dad said, rubbing your head, you shut your eyes bringing your head to your knees "But I miss you all" You cried out.

"Don't you ever lower your head!" the voice of your grandma yelled out, you looked up and your parents were gone, you sat in a field full of blue spider lily's, the flowers moved with the slight breeze.

Your hair swung around in the air "You have to wake up, it's been two years since I died. You have been asleep for two years get up and stop wasting your life! Get up and stop Rai!" Your grandma yelled.

"Get up this instant and fulfil your duties!!" You shot your eyes open and sat up quickly, raspy breaths left your mouth as your clenched onto your chest, you laid in a futon out on an engawa. "Good morning, we're glad you're awake now".
