Chapter 43: Blackout

When you opened your eyes you saw Himiko clutching her throat. She was dead. You looked at Himiko dumbfounded. Kaito then ran out of the room.
Then the others joined and they were just as shocked. The body discovery announced played and Monokuma appeared.
"Himiko!" Tsumugi screamed tears filling her eyes.
"Why did this happen?!" Gonta cried.
"It's obvious it was a murder." Kokichi sighed.
"Y/N where's Kaito?" Maki asked concerned.
"He was with me when we logged out he's safe he just left the room." You told her and she sighed in relief. As if on cue Kaito ran back into the room.
"What were you doing?" Shuichi asked.
"I just had to do something." Kaito answered looking away.
"So you logged out without permission and now won't tell us what you were doing crazy." Kokichi smiled.
"Wh-what the heck are we going to do?!" Miu asked.
"The only thing we can do and investigate." You answered.
"Ta-da! Take the Monokuma file and start investigating!" Monokuma instructed and then left.
"Okay everyone! Let's do this! I'll find the culprit this time!" Kokichi cheered.
"Why are you so cheery?" Miu asked.
"Well why are you guys sad? It's not like you really liked her anyway. I definitely didn't she was way too annoying always saying magic and what not." Kokichi smiled.
"Sure she was a dummy but it's not like she deserved to die!" Miu yelled.
"Gonta never forgive self! Gonta swear to protect everyone! But Gonta fail to protect Himiko! Gonta is failure as gentleman!" Gonta yelled his eyes soaring with anger.
You looked sadly at Himiko you hated this feeling and you didn't want to investigate another body or do another class trial.
"Dolly you don't have to carry the burden yourself. Even if you don't want to be you're still my sidekick with Shuichi we will solve this." Kaito said.

"No way Jose!" Kokichi yelled.
"What?!" You Kaito and Shuichi yelled confused.
"Y/N and Shuichi are the most reliable people in the class trial. Why would I let the two most reliable people work with a suspect?" Kokichi asked with a smirk.
"Kaito was with me he can't be a suspect." You answered.
"Yet he did leave the room Y/N." Kokichi said.
"And she was already dead. We were the first to logout so technically everyone else is a suspect except for us!" You defended.
"Even if I was the suspect those two wouldn't hide the truth to protect me." Kaito said.
"But remember Kaede's class trial." Kokichi reminded.

"Kaede accused Y/N and you defended her and Shuichi saw it through. I believe in Shuichi! And I believe in Dolly!" Kaito yelled.
"You love to believe don't you Kaito?" Kokichi asked.
"Don't you believe Y/N Kokichi?" Miu asked.
"Of course I do." Kokichi said.
"So what if she was the culprit?" Miu asked.
"I...would see it through." Kokichi hesitantly said.
"As you should. But I need to go back to my room." You admitted.
"Why?" Kokichi asked.
"Are you okay?" Miu asked worried.
"I just feel a little sick you know?" You admitted.
Kaito looked at you his eyes were filled with concerned. "I hope I didn't-" You heard him mumble.
"I just need to go to my room. Fill me in later." You softly said and walked out.

You walked to your room thinking about all the deaths before and now Himiko was dead.
"Just another one I couldn't protect." You mumbled. You eventually made it to your room and you looked at the place where you put the backpack and you checked inside and it was still there. As you were checking you then heard someone at your door. You put the backpack on and you opened the door and another note was revealed.
"Come to the fifth floor alone." You read. You stared at the note and you didn't know what to do.

"Wow another ominous note! This person really wants you gone!" Monokuma laughed as he appeared.
You jumped slightly as he appeared and then you glared at him. "What do you want?"
"I just wanted to see if you were going to meet the person. Find out who it is. Now that one is already dead it wouldn't matter if you're killed or if they're killed as long as it's not the same person who killed Himiko!" Monokuma laughed.
"Why would I do what every dumb person in horror movies do?" You questioned raising your eyebrow.
"I mean I wouldn't without something like a weapon but you might be able to get rid of this person or at least talk them out of it. This person might not even just be after you. You could be protecting the Inventor girl or Kokichi." Monokuma spoke.
You started to think about his words and how he was kind of right. If you talked to the person they might relax or they could target Kokichi or Miu if you don't show up. Or probably just find another way to target you off guard.
"It's up to you ultimate botanist do what you want." Monokuma said and then disappeared.

You sighed and ultimately decided to go to the fifth floor. Your heart was heavy and your palms were sweaty. Every step you took you couldn't help but think that you were getting close to your ultimate demise. But was that a lie or a very painful truth. You slowly made your way to the fifth floor thinking about who the person sending the notes could be. You eventually made it up and you didn't see anyone. You weren't sure where you were suppose to meet them but you noticed Tsumugi's door unlocked you entered the room slowly looking around the room while your heart was pounding. You walked all the way to the middle stage set and then you heard the door slam. You reached for your backpack and grabbed the poison. You turned around and you saw Tsumugi her eyes filled with despair and her cheeks stained with tears.

"I know you killed Himiko!" Tsumugi yelled.
"Wh-what!? No that's not true!" You yelled. "I didn't touch her!"
"I know you did as revenge for what she tried to accomplish!" Tsumugi cried. pointing a knife at you.
"What she tried to accomplish? I don't know what you mean!" You yelled.
"It doesn't matter! All that matters is that you die here and now I should have done the deed when I delivered the first note!" She let out a blood curling scream. A scream filled with revenge and hatred. You opened the bottle and as she jabbed the knife into you and you felt it plunge inside of you. You threw the bottle at her face.

You fell to the ground and as your eyes were slowly giving out you heard Tsumugi gasping and she was barely standing and then she stopped and was about to fall over before you then saw someone but you couldn't make out who wrapped something around her and then she finally fell to the ground. Your eyes gave out as you heard more footsteps and people shouting your name. The next moment you felt nothing. You saw nothing but pitch blackness and you couldn't open your eyes.  But then you heard a beautiful sound of some sort of instrument.

"Hey there." A mysterious voice said.
