Chapter 44: Seeing You Again It's Unreal

"Hey there." A mysterious voice said a voice that sounded like a guy.
"Hi." Another mysterious voice said this time the voice sounded like it belonged to a girl. You slowly opened your eyes and you saw two people staring at you.
"You know there are better places to take a nap than on the ground you know." The guy said and the girl nodded agreeing. "Give me your hand." The guy said.
Your eyes widened as you realized who they were and you extended your hand and the guy pulled you up.
"I-I c-can't believe it's you." You stuttered looking at Rantaro and Kaede. "Seeing you again it's....unreal."
"You're a sight for sore eyes that's for sure." Rantaro smiled.

"Y/N I missed you." Kaede smiled and hugged you.
"I missed you too." You sniffled tears pricking your eyes.
You looked around and observed the room and saw the piano so Kaede must have played the melody that you heard.
"Where... am I?" You asked rubbing your head.
"You're here with us." Rantaro answered.
"A-am I-I...?" You hesitantly asked looking at the two.
"No you aren't dead don't worry." Rantaro reassured.
"You're just asleep." Kaede answered.
"Wow Tsumugi got me that good." You muttered shocked.
"I'd say it was more shock and fear that got you good as well as the fall but she did get you." Rantaro explained.
"So did I....? I-i-is she...?" You stammered you felt a pit in your stomach as you asked that question. You weren't even sure if you wanted an answer to that question. They both looked at you with pity and frowns and then looked at each other.
Kaede sighed. "That's for... you to see once you go back."
You solemnly nodded the pit in your stomach grew even more. It was like they answered the question without giving a definitive reply.

"Although I'm happy to get the chance to talk to you again. Kaede and I actually need to talk to you about something." Rantaro stated looking into your eyes.
"About the killing game I presume?" You asked and the two nodded.
"You know you need to find the mastermind right?" Kaede confirmed.
"Of course I do but it is difficult thinking that one of my friends is the mastermind." You replied.
"You can't save everyone but you can save some if you put in the effort." Kaede stated and then smiled. "I'm certain that you will complete my wish to end the killing game and make it out alive with the others. You just need to be able to face the truth no matter what that truth may hold."
"But in order to do that you need to find answers." Rantaro reminded. "There are certain rooms you haven't been to and secrets you have yet to discover. Those secrets are imperative to unlocking the key to get out. As much as you trust them you have to live with the reality and understand that one of them is the mastermind. If you tell the wrong person your plan it can be ruined. But that's assuming you have a plan."

"So what are you telling her to do? Not tell them?" Kaede pouted.
"I'm warning her to be careful with what she reveals to the others. It could be beneficial to work alone especially with Monokuma always lurking if she works alone she could hide her tracks easier." Rantaro answered.
"So what you are saying is be careful who I reveal information to?" You confirmed.
"Yep because even the people closest to you you don't know everything about them and the mastermind whoever he or she is has done a good job of masking their identity." Rantaro darkly chuckled with a smirk.
"Who's to say I'm not the mastermind?" You asked.
"There's no way to know for sure but we're taking a chance based on the character and morals you have shown throughout this killing game." Kaede answered.
"Even Kokichi and Miu I might have to keep secrets from them." You mumbled not liking that idea at all.
"It might be necessary to save them. Assuming that they aren't the mastermind." Kaede said.
"Y/N if Kokichi or Miu is the mastermind will you be able to face that cold hard truth?" Rantaro asked crossing his arm.

You looked down not wanting to answer that question. You didn't even consider the possibility that either Kokichi or Miu is the mastermind. It wouldn't make any sense to you. If you could only choose two people to make it out with then you would choose those two. Could you truly handle that truth or would you lie to cover it up even if it ultimately meant your demise.
"I-It would be one of the most difficult things to do especially if the mastermind is Kokichi...but it just wouldn't be fair to everyone else. So if Miu or Kokichi is the mastermind behind this game I'll do what has to be done. Even if I don't want to I promise I'll do it." You vowed to Rantaro and Kaede and they both smiled.
"My heart is hopeful for the light you'll face soon Y/N. I know that you will beat the killing game and make it out alive." Kaede beamed giving a bright smile.
"I'm certain of that myself. Don't disappoint Y/N." Rantaro smirked.

"Oh you mean how you disappointed me by getting yourself killed?" You smirked and he rubbed the back of his head and laughed.
"Yeah that wasn't my finest moment." Rantaro laughed.
"Definitely wasn't. But I'm glad that even if it was just for a moment I got to see the two of you again." You smiled softly at the two.
"You know what you have to do Y/N. Find the true monster of the game." Kaede stated.
"In order to do that effectively gather the secrets of the school and then find the mastermind." Rantaro advised. "It won't do you any good if you accuse someone without any evidence you probably won't even have it figured out without any evidence."
"It would just be a baseless accusation that probably no one would believe." You stated.
"Well Y/N do you think that you can do it?" Rantaro asked. You looked at them in their eyes and although there was a part of you that just wanted to run and hide. You knew that running away and hiding wasn't something you could do.
"I'll be honest I'm scared that I'm going to fail I'm worried that the truth is going to be something I'm not going to like. Something that I...truly fear. But I'll never know if I don't go ahead and reveal the truth myself. No matter what the truth may be I'll protect everyone and escape this horrible game with my friends. That is my goal and desire and I'll see it through to the end!" You declared with a determined look on your face and the two had a look of pride on their face.
"Then I think it's time for you to go back." Rantaro said. "I'm going to miss seeing that determined look on your face and hearing voice. But I also hope that we don't see each other for a long time so you can live a happy life."
"I'm going to miss you too Rantaro." You smiled and gave him a friendly hug.
"Y/N take care of everyone and when you escape I'm sure you're going to have such a happy life I can just feel it in my heart." Kaede smiled. "Make sure you tell Kokichi what's in your heart." Kaede winked as she walked over to the piano and started to play Clair de Lune.
"Tell Kokichi what's in my heart?" You blushed and Kaede smirked.
"You know what I'm talking about." Kaede replied and you noticed Rantaro with a smirk on his face too.
As the song was playing you noticed everything slowly start to fade away and you started to cry as you waved goodbye to Rantaro and Kaede knowing that you will never be able to see them or talk to them again.
"Goodbye Rantaro and Kaede I promise I'll always remember you." You promised as the last tear fell. As before everything was dark. You couldn't see anything or hear anything. Until you started to hear people sob.
"Y/N...no! No! No! No! Why!? Come back to me! Y/N please don't leave me! I don't want to be alone!" You heard someone cry.
