Chapter 28: Confronting A Cult Leader

You, Tenko, and Kokichi were making your way to Angie's lab. It was nighttime and it felt super creepy and there was a slight chill in the air. You were thinking of how you were going to stop her if it could be done in a nice way or if it had to be a more unethical way.
"Come on you two pick up the pace." Tenko whispered and you and Kokichi did as you were told and in no time all three of you arrived at Angie's Lab.
You were reaching for the door but then Tenko stopped you.
"I'm pretty sure the door is locked." Tenko said.
"Angie did mention before that she locks the room when she's working." You mumbled thinking of another way inside. Kokichi grabbed the door knob anyway to test it but it was locked.
You sighed and started to pound on the door. "Angie! Open up!"
"Wow Y/N is being so impatient." Kokichi commented.
"Got any better ideas?" You asked.
"Angie will only open the door when a student council member calls for her." Tenko informed.
"You could of told us that sooner." Kokichi sighed.
Tenko then knocked on the door. "Angie it's Tenko I wanna talk to you about something. Can you open the door?" She asked.
"Oh Tenko." Angie said from behind the door.
"Yeah it's me!" Tenko replied.
The door opened to reveal a smiling Angie.
"Yah hah! How can I help you?" She asked and then she noticed you and Kokichi. "Why are Y/N and Kokichi here?"
"Ah um." You began searching for the right words.
"Oh I get it you both wanna join the student council huh?" Angie asked. "Then you'll need to get acquainted with Atua I will introduce you to Him. Please come in."
"Oh yeah we so want to join. Let's go meet Him." Kokichi lied and Angie lead the way inside.

"Just go with it." Kokichi whispered to you and you nodded understanding.
When you stepped into the lab you saw replicas of Rantaro, Kaede, Ryoma, and Kirumi.
"Oh my gosh." You exclaimed in horror and shock.
"I made them! Don't they look lifelike? Aren't they divine?" Angie asked.
You gripped Kokichi's hand for comfort because seeing those replicas of them and how much they looked real you didn't know what to say.
"You made them?" Kokichi asked.
"Yep they're my very own handcrafted wax effigies." Angie smiled.
"Why?" You asked.
"Why? For the resurrection ritual of course." Angie said. "According to the necronomicon we need an effigy of the deceased to perform the ritual. So I went ahead and made these. Simple dolls probably would've been better but once I got to work Atua took possession of me. Nyahaha and before I knew it I had made these? What do you think? Aren't they amazing?" Angie asked cheerfully.
"Huh you sure do cruel things innocently." Kokichi spat.

She looked confused.
"It's incredible for a second I thought or maybe hoped that they were real and still here." You admitted.
You then took a closer look at them and realized that they do resemble your deceased classmates something was off about them.
"It's scary Angie can do these things without care please you must stop her." Tenko begged in a hushed whisper.
"Let's try persuading her first we should be able to try to talk to her." Kokichi said.
You looked at Angie in the eyes. "Could you please reconsider?
"I see I see. Reconsider what exactly?" She asked.
"The ritual you're trying to do." You responded. "I just don't think you fully comprehend how bad it might be. Remember this was Monokuma's motive and if he wants us to do it it can't be good."
"But the dead can't really come back to life. So the people who died must still be alive-" Angie began.
"No Angie that's not true." You cut her off. "The bodies were not fakes I'm positive about it. Especially after seeing the wax effigies. The effigies were nearly perfect but the real bodies they still had traces of their soul. A soul desperately fighting to live and that can't be replicated no matter what technology someone has you can't fake a soul. Ryoma, Kirumi, Rantaro and Kaede are dead." You looked down sadly but you knew that was the truth a truth without any lies.

"I agree with Y/N I have no doubts that what we saw was true." Kokichi echoed. "And trust me as the ultimate supreme leader I know my stuff."
"I see I see if that's what you both say then maybe they are really dead." Angie thought. "Then if we do the ritual will we actually resurrect the dead? What a miraculous mystery."
"Someone who has died can't be resurrected." Kokichi pointed out.
"But that's not what Atua says." Angie smiled. "He says that if we do the ritual everyone who has died up till now will come back. So if those four are really dead then the resurrection ritual will surely work."
"You're not gonna stop this are you?" Tenko asked.
"Of course not! This is Atua's will!" Angie smiled.

"You're insane." You said shaking your head at the president of the student council cult.
"This is your will not Atua's." Kokichi said.
"Nuh uh it's Atua's." Angie said. "Atua told me that our friends will come back to life if we do this ritual. So we have to do it. We can't defy a direct command from Atua. Or else we'll get punished y'know?"
You looked at the crazy girl and you looked at Kokichi and Tenko.
"Geez Angie you aren't some vessel! Get that through your head!" Kokichi yelled aggravated.
"Kokichi Tenko there's nothing more we can do let's just go." You sighed in defeat knowing that talking to her wasn't going to work.
They both agreed reluctantly and we headed out and you started to think of another plan but you didn't have any.

"It's safe to say Tenko betrayed the council but I forgive you! Because Atua is a big softie!" Angie smiled.
"What's going on?" A familiar voice asked you looked and saw Himiko. "Why are Y/N and Kokichi here? They're not on the student council and it's nighttime."
"Himiko!" Tenko shouted.
"Oh it's nothing." Angie said. "Tenko simply betrayed the student council and brought these two to change my mind."
"Nyeh! She betrayed us!?" Himiko exclaimed her face turning as red as her hair. "That sounds like a big problem but if you're saying it's nothing then Angie you really are loved by Atua!"
You looked at Kokichi and you were both seriously creeped you by all of this and he had a look on his face saying we need to get away from this cult.

Tenko walked towards Himiko and gripped her shoulders.
"Please snap out of it! Aren't you a mage?" Tenko asked.
"That hurts let me go." Himiko complained.
"Himiko why can't you see that you've been brainwashed? If you can't even see that then you're not a real mage at all!" Tenko shouted.
"Wh-what?" Himiko asked lowering her hat again.
"Feeling angry? If you are then show it! Get mad! Get upset! Yell at me! Just fight back already! Do something!" Tenko sobbed. You looked at her her face streaming with tears as she was trying to get Himiko out of the trance. You saw Himiko not changing in fact she was still mad and not doing anything.
"Tenko let's just leave it be for now." You suggested.
"Yeah you can't break people out of cults like this." Kokichi said.

Himiko didn't look Tenko in the eyes and the three of you went to the dorms. Tenko was still crying her face full of sadness.
"Are you okay?" You asked concerned.
"I said all those horrible things to Himiko and now I don't know what to do!" Tenko yelled.
"You were trying to help her so don't feel bad." Kokichi smiled.
"If you apologize I'm sure she will understand but me and Kokichi are going to sleep. I'll see you tomorrow." You said and waved goodnight.
You and Kokichi entered his room and Kokichi hugged you.
"Finally I get to have you all to myself." Kokichi smiled.
You smiled back and you both cuddled on his bed. It was quiet for a bit but then you spoke.

"What are we going to do?" You asked.
"About Angie?" Kokichi asked and you nodded. "Well what do you want to do? Do you want to quit?"
"No I don't want to quit but making her change her mind we might have to be less nice." You said looking down not wanting to admit it.
"Less nice ways I'll think about it." Kokichi smirked. "But for right now let's just enjoy this moment with each other."
You smiled and blushed as you got comfier and he held you a bit tighter.
"Goodnight my beloved." Kokichi said drifting off into sleep.
"Goodnight love." You said falling asleep.
