(Ashton's POV)
"Feeling flirty tonight, Ash?" Lyric giggled as I rubbed my hand up and down her thigh.
"Maybe." I winked and watched the chaos that is a birthday party. We just did the cake, which was a huge drum and it was so sick.
"You wanna go to an art museum sometime?" She asked as she sipped from her rum and coke. Apparently one of her old art friends from here told her about one.
"Only if I can fuck you in it. You deserved to be pinned up on a wall, after all, you are a masterpiece."
"Wow. You pull that out of a 90's pick up line book?"
"Oh c'mon I'm fucking funny." I chuckled.
We partied for a couple hours before I jumped into the pool with the a bunch of people. I wandered back into the house and found that my family left and a high Lyric and Daisy.
"You're cute? Wanna go out sometime?" Lyric's eyes were bloodshot and glazed over as she stared at me. She fumbled all over herself and kept giggling.
"You goof. We're already dating. WE'RE ENGAGED. You're very high." I pinched her cheek and couldn't help but laugh.
"I'm a lucky girl, then. And you're still very cute." She complimented, booping me close. I sat down next to her and stabilized her movements. "You're so good to me. No wonder we're getting married."
"Really high." I bantered, leaning my forehead against hers.
"Cute." She pipped, and I took the joint away from her, handing it to whoever else.
"High." I laughed and scooped her up to go lay down.
"You're all wet." She scrunched her nose and sat on the bed as we got to the room. "WAIT WHAT ABOUT THE PARTY?!"
"I was in the pool, dummy." I chuckled and changed. "Lycia is taking care of the party don't worry."
Lyric stared at me for a long time and looked lost in thought before saying something. "But I threw you the party you should go have fun." I shook my head and chuckled. "Damn your so cute with your dimples. Fuck you and your dimples and your smile that makes me melt and your personality that lights up a thousand rooms. You're like my own personal sunshine and I wanna punch you in the face because I love you so much and I can't take it."
Taken aback, I just stood there for awhile. She stared at me again and then made a puppy dog face. "Tell me a story?"
"A new one, or your favorite one?"
"My favorite please." We both went up to the bed and got under the covers. She snuggled up to me as I retold the tale. Best birthday ever.
I finished and Lyric was playing with my hair while I stared down at her. "You know, I always have this feeling like I'm ruining your life because I know you deserve the world and all I can give you is a title and three words. It's hard being so far away from you."
"You've given me way more than that." Her voice now less airy and more serious, obviously winding down from her high. "You've given me this house. Your love. A music family. So much more. Distance is hard but not being with you ever would be even harder."
"I just wish I could give you the world."
"But you have. Anything I could ever dream. And I love you for that. But I'm still my own person and so are you and we can't be conjoined." She pointed out.
"Why do you even love me? What made you think 'Wow this dork looks datable?'"
"I like the way you make me feel warm. You're my own sunshine. And everybody in the world can see how amazing you are. You're hilarious and smart and talented, it astounds me. Plus you're an animal at the drums. What made you like me? I'm so lame."
