(Lyric's POV)
After dinner was done around 7:30, we went back to gather their things and head out to the airport. I asked Michael what was wrong with him and Daisy and he just brushed me off. I ignored it for now, not yet making it my main priority. But for now, Ashton was. In the van. I clung onto his arm so tightly, it might've come off. He slid his arm out of my grasp and wrapped it around me. "I'm miss you."
"But you haven't left yet."
"Yeah, but I still do. I already miss the way you put your head into the crook of my neck, your corny jokes and band punch lines; and your laugh, oh god your laugh. What I wouldn't do to hear that everyday for the rest of my life." He murmured, holding my chin in between his forefinger and thumb.
He pressed a soft kiss on my lips and we all sat there in a kind of sad silence. Michael was not sitting next to Daisy, and was instead sitting next to Tasia and Luke, which I found strange. Car rides are usually when they look at memes together or something. God, I need to figure out what's happening with them. We got back to the hotel and Ashton sat with me alone in my room, just like in Indiana, we sat on the floor in a like of blankets we pulled off both beds.
"The hotel is gonna hate us." I chuckled, glancing at the mess Lycia and I made in the room. Ashton laughed and nodded.
"We still have a little bit of time before we leave for the airport." He reminded me, tugging me back to reality.
I groaned and dramatically fell into his lap. "Don't remind me." Ash situated himself and sat me between his legs, slinging his arms around my torso and burying his head in my neck. "We only have a few more weeks of the U.S./Canada tour. Then I'm off to Sydney to be with you for the rest of the summer. I can't wait to see your family."
He mumbled into my neck, "They can't wait to see you. My mum always calls me to say how excited she is to have us there and how proud she is."
We laid there in our pile of hotel blankets, watching the world on the other side of the window pane. I lazily dragged a fingertip across Ashton's tattoo, admiring it. "Do you think you'll get more tattoos?" I asked.
"Mm..not sure. But do you know what I like?" He dragged his fingers across my side and pulled down the waistband of my shorts I was now wearing to reveal my small cross tattoo. "This one."
"Really? More than your initials on my collarbone? I like that one a lot."
He paused, deciding. "I don't know. I like all three of your tattoos. They're awesome."
I sat up and faced him, "This one," pointing to my hipbone tattoo. "means faith, my middle name. It was my first tattoo, and it hurt like hell. But it means a lot to me, just like the others. And this one," I opened up the side of my cut off shirt, revealing the tattoo etched across my ribs. "it's my favorite quote. I had it on my wall in my room at one point, and I wrote it all over my notebooks in school. 'Everything was beautiful, and nothing hurt.' Which was ironic, because that hurt a lot, too. I got it a few months before I met you."
Ashton smiled, and held my hand in his, "I like hearing you talk. I really do. Most guys, they don't like hearing their girlfriends talk. But I think they take it for granted, because I could listen to you talk all day. Which I have done sometimes." He chuckled.
Lycia opened the door slowly, and I saw her eyes were puffy and red when she said so lowly I could barely hear her. "It's time to go to the airport."
Lycia left and we both stood up, looking at each other. It was that time again. Time to say goodbye. I looked into his eyes and immediately burst into tears. I clung to his chest, heavily sobbing and heaving. "Don't leave."
