(Lyric's POV)

*ring ring*

I groaned before lazily grabbing my phone off the night stand.

"Hello? I answered groggily."

"Good morning? It is morning there, isn't it?" Ashton's voice sounded through the phone and I instantly felt a surge of relief.

"Yeah...like 6:30. I just went to bed a few hours ago. What's up babe?" I got out of bed and went out to the balcony.

"Just went to the beach with the gang. I miss you."

"I miss you too."

"Wish I could've come with you." He said glumly, making me feel guilty.

"I know, and I do too. But this is something I needed to do, I promise I'll see you soon." I swore.

"If you're not back in the few days, I'm coming out there."

"Alright." I laughed. "You bring your aussie butt out here."

"You know it, Princess." I could hear the smugness in his voice and could picture his goofy face.

"Tell me I'm pretty." I pouted.

"No." I was hurt a little by that. "And by that I mean, no, why would I say you're pretty when you're so much more. I'm not going to do that, not going to let you sell yourself short."

"You're right." I giggled. "But I'm not pretty?"

"Of course you're pretty, you're beautiful. But you've got so much more than that."

"I love you, you big dork."

"I love you dingus." He chuckled. "I'll talk to you later. Call me everyday goodnight?"

"Promise." I hung up and went back to bed, trying to sleep for a little while longer.

Around 8:30 I was jumped on by two large bodies and lots of screaming.

"GET UP! LET'S GO ADVENTURE WITH CALUM!"

"Let's go have fun!"

"Can we go visit Lycia?"

"No dummy she's not supposed to know Lyric's here." Mary groaned, explaining to our little brother.

"Oh. Let's go to the pool."

"Noooo, canes get some breakfast?"

"Yeah sure. Is Calum up?"

"Yes." Jonah replied.

"Okay let's go then, dipsticks." I laughed and got up. "Give me like 10 minutes. Get out."

I got shorts and a tank top and grabbed a hoodie for later. As I walked out of my room, I grabbed my phone and it's charger, my wallet, and my keys. I brushed my hands through my hair as I went downstairs. It was weird being back home, but I kind like it. I wish Ashton was here, but I'll deal.

I got some texts from a GM minus Lycia.

Luke: wait so lyric and lycia are gone now? Dang it. Does this mean no more house parties
Ashton: probably not, not allowed to touch the girls' booze
Daisy: we'll buy our own
Tasia: this is total shit. they're both gone and nobody's making a big enough deal out of it. no parties luke.
Michael: duuuuuuuuddeeee calum fucked up
Ashton: at least he's trying to fix it
Calum: Im in this group message guys, thanks
Daisy: nobody told you to mack on another girl
Alli: wait what? I'm in this? Cool.
Daisy: sorry
Daisy: no im not
Jacob: when are they coming back?
Calum: idk...

I replied as we all made our way out to the car.

Lyric: hi guys! dont party without me, especially with my alcohol. more details later.

I picked up my baby cousin Oshen and I drove down the road to a local diner the girls and I go to when we're home. The manager, Lenny, saw me and had the biggest grin.

"LYRIC!! MY DEAR, YOU'RE HOME!" His thick accent made me laugh all the time. Lenny ran around the counter and bugged me tightly. "Anastasia ees going to be so so happy, I'll cawl her to come een weeth Dominique!" He dialed up the phone before looking back up. "Where's zee ozza girls?"

"Lycia's home too, everyone's back in Australia. Just me today." I said as we walked to our normal booth.

"Oh, vat happened? Is some-zing wrong?" Lenny asked.

"Just some stuff to work out. We'll be okay, thanks Lenny." I replied with a weak smile.

"Since we meesed your birthday we are going to celebrate! No objections!" He ran off to the kitchen and didn't look back.

"Nice guy." Cal commented.

"He's the bestest!" Oshen nodded furiously across the table from me. "He always gives me extra ice cream when dad's not looking. And he always talks about Lyric! That's my favorite subject!"

I laughed and ruffled his hair. He made a face at me and I made one right back, making Oshen roll into a fit of giggles.

"Lyr, how long are you gonna be home for?" Mary asked from the other side of the booth.

"Don't know, kiddo. I wanna spend a day with you, though."

"Me too. You're not home too often."

"I WANT A DAY, TOO!" Oshen screamed and then chugged down some orange soda.

"What about me? Can I get a day?" Calum joked, nudging me with his elbow.

"You got your day, Hood." I replied sarcastically.

We finished up lunch and I dropped off the kids at my aunt's house since my dad worked all day. I still haven't seen him since I got home.

"Okay, Cal, ready to go try not to fuck up again?" I drove down the road to get to the Dobbins' house.

He sighed and rolled his eyes at my comment. "Ready as I'll ever be, I guess."

"Wow, don't sound so sure of yourself."

"She's already shot me down so many times." Calum was so defeated. I couldn't help but feel a little bad for him.

"What are you gonna do? Beg for forgiveness? Again? I don't think it's that easy."

"Nothing's ever easy, I've noticed."

"You're clever, I'm sure you'll figure it out." I weakly encouraged as we made our way down her winding driveway.

"Let me know if you need me. I'll be right down the road." I bid goodbye and he walked up to the porch.

(Ashton's POV)

It's about one in the morning and I decided to call Lyric. I wonder how everything is. She never told me how long they'd be gone. It's been 3 days since she left and I told her I'd come out with her if she wasn't coming back two days from now.

Today I went out with some old friends I hadn't seen in awhile. The beach was great and I took a bunch of photos to show Lyric. She didn't answer my first call so I tweeted some stuff and posted some beach photos.

Tweet: Missing my lyric, life doesn't feel like a song

Our relationship was hidden for about 6 months because of drama and the fans. But now they're more accepting than we could ever hope for.

I waited ten minutes before calling again.

"Hey Ash! Sorry I missed your call, I was dropping Calum off."

"That's fine baby, what's up?"

"I'm at Lycia's grandmas house. What are you up to? Isn't it like 1:30 there?"

"Yeah, I couldn't sleep. I might go for a drive."

"No no no, go to sleep. Text me when you wake up. I love you." She hung up before I could object.

(Lycia's POV)

I woke up to barking dogs and a raging migraine. My mother knocked on my door softly. Someone's here to see me.
