LISA'S POV
It was the day after I confessed my feelings for Jennie and the same day she officially asked me out.
Honestly, I still couldn't believe it. Every time I thought about it, my stomach filled with butterflies.
I was walking toward Jennie's building when suddenly, someone slipped their hand into mine and began swinging it back and forth playfully.
I turned and saw Jennie smiling brightly, her dimples showing.
I couldn't help but laugh. She always had this way of making me feel warm and safe. We walked hand in hand to the elevator, stepped in, and the doors closed behind us. Luckily, there was no one else inside.
Jennie moved behind me and wrapped her arms around my waist in a back hug. Her chin rested lightly on my shoulder. Smirking, I turned around quickly and kissed her cheek just to tease her. She frowned instantly, puffing out her cheeks, and pointed to her lips.
I giggled at her expression. "What? Not good enough?"
She shook her head dramatically, pouting like a child. I leaned in again but kissed her other cheek instead, and then the elevator dinged open.
Before she could react, I ran outside laughing, darting straight into her office.
I sat at my desk, pretending to look busy, when I heard the door open and close with a loud slam. My head shot up and there she was, Jennie, sprinting toward me with determination in her eyes.
"Uh-oh," I whispered, immediately jumping out of my chair.
We ended up running around her office like kids playing tag, laughing so hard we could barely breathe.
"You think you can tease me like that?" she yelled, her voice full of mock anger. "I want my kiss!"
She chased me around her desk, and I kept dodging until suddenly she cut me off. Jennie stepped right in front of me, forcing me to stop. I tried to back away, but my back hit the edge of her desk. Trapped.
Jennie smirked, her eyes gleaming with mischief. Without warning, she pulled me and make me set down on top of her desk. She stepped between my legs, her arms sliding around my waist to keep me from escaping.
"No escaping now," she teased, her smirk making my heart race.
I pouted at her. "You're so unfair."
She leaned closer, whispering against my lips.
"I can let you escape... if I get my kiss. A proper kiss this time."
Rolling my eyes playfully, I wrapped my arms around her neck and pulled her in, connecting our lips. She immediately kissed me back, slow but deep, her hands tightening around my waist.
Before we could lose ourselves, a loud knock on the door startled us. I quickly pushed against Jennie's shoulders, lifting myself off the desk and running back to my own. She sighed, clearly annoyed, and opened the door.
Taehyung stormed inside, his face red with anger.
"What do you mean you want to break up?!" he screamed, his voice echoing across the room.
Jennie, however, looked completely unbothered. She crossed her arms and replied calmly, "Because I want to."
Taehyung let out a bitter laugh. "Oh, I get it. Who is he? I want to meet him!"
Jennie's lips curled into a smile. "First of all, it's not a he. It's a she."
Taehyung froze, his eyes wide.
Jennie turned her head toward me, her voice steady.
"Lisa, come here." My heart skipped a beat.
Slowly, I stood up and walked to her side. Jennie wrapped her arms around my waist protectively, pulling me closer as she faced him.
"She's my girlfriend," Jennie said proudly, smiling as if she had just won the world.
Taehyung's jaw clenched, his fists tightening. "You little bitch!" he shouted and lunged toward me.
But Jennie immediately stepped in front of me, her body acting like a shield. Her expression turned cold.
"Get. Out." Her voice was sharp, harsh enough to silence the room.
Taehyung glared at us one last time before storming out, slamming the door behind him.
I let out a shaky breath. "Woah."
Jennie turned around immediately, pulling me into a hug.
We moved over to the couch and sat down together. I still couldn't believe what just happened.
"How long have you two been dating?" I asked softly.
Jennie leaned back against the couch. "About two years," she answered casually.
"Wow... that's a long time."
She shrugged her shoulders. "I never loved him. Our parents just wanted us to date each other so we could keep our businesses tied together."
I nodded slowly, understanding.
Without warning, Jennie tugged me onto her lap. I looked at her in confusion, but she just sighed and rolled her eyes like it was the most natural thing in the world. She tightened her hold on my waist, keeping me there.
"Why didn't you love him?" I asked quietly.
Jennie chuckled softly, almost shyly. "Because I'm gay."
I blinked, taken aback by how openly she admitted it. She laughed lightly, then smiled with a hint of nervousness. "I never felt like this for anyone before. I wasn't a romantic person. I never cared for anyone else... except you."
Her words made my chest tighten. I kissed her forehead gently. "Take me home? I'm tired," I said with a small smile.
When we arrived at my house, Jennie hurried to open the car door for me. "Thank you," I said softly.
"Anything for you, Lili," she winked.
I leaned against her car, refusing to go inside just yet. Jennie stood in front of me, holding both my hands gently.
"People say nobody's perfect," she whispered, her eyes searching mine.
"But to me, you're more than perfect." My face burned with a blush.
"All my life, I thought I'd never find love," she continued, her voice trembling slightly. "But then you came into my life, and I'm just... so grateful that we met."
I bent down a little so our faces were closer. Jennie's hands reached up, cupping my cheeks, her thumbs brushing softly against my skin. She smiled shyly.
"Thank you, Lili."
"For what?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper.
"For coming into my life," she replied, her smile breaking into something so tender it made me laugh softly.
I pressed a kiss to her forehead before finally saying goodbye. I turned toward my door, glancing back one last time and there she was, still smiling at me as if I was her entire world.
JENNIE'S POV
After Lisa went inside her house safely, I let out a long sigh and felt my eyes sting. I quickly wiped away the tears that had formed.
I walked back to my car and sat there for a moment, staring at the steering wheel but thinking only of her.
"I already miss you, Lili," I whispered to myself, my chest aching yet full at the same time.
Because for the first time in my life... I was truly in love.
