LISA'S POV
Today was already a terrible day. My car broke down, and of all days, it had to happen today, the same day I had my internship.
How am I supposed to get there now when I don't even have a working car?
Honestly, I'm starting to hate this internship. Today marks my fifth day, and so far, Jennie hasn't even given me a single piece of actual paperwork to do. Instead, I feel like her personal servant.
Every day it's the same routine, fetching her coffee, running errands, and obeying her every demand.
And Jennie... she's so cold to me now. Mean, even. Whenever I try to talk to her like a normal person, she either ignores me completely or raises her voice at me.
And let's be real, when Jennie Kim screams, it's terrifying. She has this aura that makes everyone around her freeze.
But what confuses me the most is... what happened to the Jennie from five days ago? The Jennie who smiled at me, who made me laugh, who took me out for coffee. She was warm, even kind.
That Jennie felt real. And now, it's like she's a completely different person.
School had just ended, and as I packed my things, I couldn't help but stress over how I was going to get to her building.
Should I call for a taxi? No, too expensive. Should I beg a ride off someone? Nope, not happening.
So, my only choice left was to walk. Great.
As I headed out of school, I noticed a huge crowd of students gathered in the parking lot.
They were all craning their necks, squealing, and pointing. It looked like they were surrounding someone or something.
Maybe a celebrity had come to visit?
Curious, I pushed my way through the cluster of students. The closer I got, the louder the noise became until finally, I saw who it was. And my jaw dropped.
Jennie.
She was leaning effortlessly against her luxurious car, arms crossed over her chest, and wearing a sleek pair of sunglasses that made her look like she'd just walked out of a magazine photoshoot.
The aura she gave off was so intimidating yet magnetic that people couldn't stop staring.
And then, she smirked, at me.
My entire body froze.
"Damn... Ms. Kim is sexy," a dude whispered behind me.
"I'd smash her," another boy muttered next to him.
"I'd love to have her car, but I'd love to have her in my bed more," someone else said, and I almost gagged.
Before I could even react, Jennie slowly took off her sunglasses, and the crowd went absolutely wild, screaming like fangirls at a concert.
Then, out of nowhere, she lifted her hand... and pointed straight at me.
My eyes widened. "What are you doing here?!" I asked, my voice shaky, but she only smirked wider.
"You're late, Lili. I was waiting here for like five minutes already," she said, her tone sharp but playful.
And then she raised her voice, loud enough for the entire school to hear.
"Lisa Manoban!"
The crowd immediately hushed, the air filled with shocked gasps.
"Come with me," she commanded.
Gasps erupted around us like fireworks.
"I can just walk," I muttered, already turning to leave, but before I could take another step, she grabbed my wrist firmly.
Without hesitation, she tugged me toward her car.
The crowd went crazy, whispering, screaming, snapping pictures. My face burned with embarrassment.
Jennie opened the passenger door, and when I hesitated, she leaned in close. Her scent, her presence, it overwhelmed me. She smirked again, buckled my seatbelt herself, her hand brushing against my arm.
"No escaping now," she whispered before pulling back and starting the engine.
And just like that, we were gone.
When we arrived at the building, I followed Jennie closely, still trying to recover from the scene she'd just caused back at school.
Inside her office, she sat down in her chair with perfect composure, while I stood in front of her, still confused.
"How do you know I don't have a car? How do you even know what school I go to?!" I asked, trying to sound serious despite the nervous shake in my voice.
"Easy. Your parents," she said casually, not even looking up from her desk.
I sighed, frustrated. "When can I do actual paperwork? I came here for an internship, not to be your personal coffee delivery girl."
"Never," she replied coldly, her eyes finally meeting mine.
I blinked, taken aback.
"Now," she continued, flipping a page on her desk, "I just printed something, and you need to go get it."
She didn't even glance at me again.
Suppressing a groan, I left her office and headed to the printing room, which, unfortunately for me was located outside of the main building.
Why on earth was it so far away?
The walk was long, and by the time I collected the documents, I was drained. I took my sweet time heading back, dragging my feet. I must have been gone for nearly twenty minutes.
But as I made my way back, I suddenly felt... uneasy. Like someone was following me.
I glanced over my shoulder, nothing.
I shook my head, telling myself I was overthinking, but then I caught movement out of the corner of my eye.
Someone was there.
Someone was following me.
My heart began to race. The sound of footsteps quickened behind me, and without thinking, I bolted, clutching the papers to my chest as I ran back inside the building.
By the time I reached the elevator, I was breathless. My hands were shaking as I pressed the button repeatedly, urging it to move faster.
Finally, the doors opened, and I stepped inside, still feeling like someone was right behind me.
When I reached Jennie's floor, I rushed down the hall and barged into her office without even knocking.
But the moment I entered, I collided hard with someone. The impact sent us both tumbling to the floor, the papers flying into the air like scattered leaves.
I groaned, blinking in confusion, only to realize the weight on top of me. My eyes went wide.
Jennie.
She was sprawled across me, her hands braced on either side of my head, her face inches away from mine. And worse, her body was between my legs.
I froze.
She froze.
Her eyes widened as she realized the exact same thing I did.
My heart pounded so loudly I was sure she could hear it.
Oh no. Oh no, oh no, oh no.
I'm dead.
