LISA'S POV

It was now Monday, and I found myself walking nervously to Jennie's office.

We hadn't seen each other face-to-face since the night she came to my house, but even with that distance, Jennie hadn't left me completely alone.

She had been texting me non-stop every night, sometimes asking if I had eaten, sometimes reminding me to lock my doors, and other times just sending little messages that kept me awake smiling until I fell asleep.

As I reached her office, I opened the door and stepped inside with a smile, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness just to see her again.

"There will be a visitor today in my office. Just act professional," she said firmly, her tone all business as her sharp eyes met mine.

I nodded obediently, though my lips curled into a small smile.

"I just got called downstairs. If the visitor comes, try to act professional," she added once more, her face serious. I couldn't help but giggle softly at how she emphasized it twice, as if she didn't quite trust me to behave.

She gave me one last look before leaving, her heels clicking against the floor as the door shut behind her.

A couple of minutes later, the visitor walked into the office.

"Jennie will come here shortly," I said politely to the man, trying to sound professional like she told me.

But something about him made my stomach twist.

He looked... familiar.

"It's fine. I'm not here for her, so I'm glad she's not here," he said, his tone chilling. Then, before I could even react, he pulled out a knife.

My blood ran cold.

"Y-you're that guy... the one who was following me," I stammered nervously, my whole body trembling. He just smiled, a sick, twisted grin.

"I've been waiting for this day," he hissed, and then suddenly he lunged at me.

I barely had time to scream when I felt strong arms wrap around my waist from the front, pulling me close protectively.

My eyes widened in shock as police officers suddenly stormed in, tackling the man to the ground before he could reach me.

I looked up and my heart dropped.

It was Jennie.

But her blouse... it was stained with crimson.

Blood.

I immediately looked down at her stomach, and my tears spilled out the moment I saw it, she was bleeding badly.

"Jennie!" I cried, my voice cracking as I fell to my knees with her. She was shaking, her body weakening in my arms.

I quickly put her head on my lap, my hands trembling uncontrollably as I took off my jacket and pressed it against her wound, desperately trying to stop the bleeding.

"A-are you okay, Lili?" she whispered weakly, her voice so faint it broke me.

I nodded frantically, tears falling down my cheeks. "Y-yes, I'm fine. Please stay with me, Jennie. Please."

But before I could say more, her eyes fluttered closed, and panic surged through me.

"No, no, no, Jennie! Stay awake, please!" I sobbed, shaking her lightly.

The paramedics rushed in and carefully lifted her onto a stretcher. My hands wouldn't stop shaking as I followed them, climbing into the ambulance without hesitation.

The sirens wailed as we sped to the hospital, my eyes never leaving her pale face.

Hours later, I sat in the waiting room, my legs bouncing uncontrollably as I chewed on my nails. Every second felt like years.

Finally, I went up to a nurse, my voice breaking as I asked about Jennie.

"She's okay," the nurse reassured softly, handing me her room number. Relief flooded through me so strongly that my knees nearly gave out.

I rushed to her room, my hand shaking as I opened the door.

But what I saw made my chest tighten painfully.

Taehyung was sitting on her bed.

Both of them turned their heads toward me. Jennie's eyes widened instantly when she saw me, but Taehyung's expression darkened with pure anger.

"What are you doing here?!" he yelled, standing up.

"You're the reason why Jennie got stabbed! Get out before I call security!"

His words cut through me like glass, but before I could respond, Jennie's tired voice spoke up.

"Taehyung, I'm tired... so can you leave while I sleep?" she murmured weakly.

He frowned but nodded. "Of course, babe. Rest well." He leaned down and kissed her lips before leaving the room.

The moment he left, my chest twisted painfully again. She looked exhausted, and I thought it was best to leave her alone. I turned toward the door quietly, but her voice stopped me.

"Where are you going?" Jennie asked softly.

I froze and turned around. "Y-you said that you were tired..."

"Yeah, but... I'm never tired of you, Lili. Please stay," she mumbled, her voice vulnerable.

My heart melted instantly. I nodded and sat down on the small couch by her bed.

We started talking about random things, silly things, anything to distract her from the pain. For a little while, it felt like we were in our own bubble, just the two of us.

"Did that guy go to jail?" she asked after a pause, her eyes searching mine.

"Yeah," I said softly, a smile tugging at my lips as I leaned closer to press a kiss to her forehead.

"Good. I can finally sleep," she whispered with a small, relieved smile.

As the night dragged on, I tried to rest on the couch, but it was small and uncomfortable. I kept shifting, moving around, unable to find a position that didn't ache.

"Lay next to me," I suddenly heard Jennie say, her soothing accent sending a shiver down my spine.

"I-I'm good," I said shyly, my face heating up.

"Lay next to me, please. Or else your neck and back will hurt. If you get hurt, I can't stay still or sleep. Plus..." She gave me a little pout.

"You have to sleep next to me, Lili."

Her expression was too much, I giggled softly.

Finally, I stood up and hesitantly climbed onto the hospital bed with her. My head rested gently on her chest, listening to the steady beat of her heart, while her arms wrapped around my waist protectively.

"Can I keep you?" she whispered suddenly, her breath warm against my ear.

I giggled again, my cheeks burning. "Okay," I replied softly, smiling as I buried my face in her neck.

"Why did you get stabbed for me?" I whispered after a moment, lifting my head slightly to look into her eyes.

"I'll tell you another time," she said softly, before kissing my nose. My face turned even redder, and I quickly hid my face back into the crook of her neck.

My eyelids grew heavy, sleep slowly overtaking me as her warmth surrounded me.

"Goodnight, my Lili," she whispered softly.

That was the last thing I heard before I drifted off into sleep.
