Friday January 30th
Andrew felt his body sink into the seat of his truck. Two conflicting feeling wrestled within him.
Elated. He talked to her, he really had. And it wasn’t just a simple, “Here’s the clipboard.” It was a real conversation.
Doubt. What if she didn’t want to meet him? What if she just wanted to stop talking to him completely? He was serious when he told her that he was falling for her and that if she wanted to meet he would.
So why was there a knot in his stomach at the idea that she wouldn’t want to meet and an even bigger one at that idea that she would?
Taking a deep breath Andrew searched his pockets for his phone before pulling it out.
Swiping his phone to unlock it he pushed the icon to check his messages.
No dancing dots.
Only a read receipt. Read at 2:37pm.
Andrew started his truck, turning down the radio as it belted out a song Mason had sent him a few nights ago.
“The script was written and I could not change a thing
I want to rip it all to shreds and start again
One day I'll come into your world and get it right
I'll say we're better off together here tonight”.
And his heart sunk a little.
